Has anyone made or can make Curved curtains to fit curved walls? Sheer and solids would be great.

I have tried this several times with pillows and tables but as yet have not quite mastered blenders curves thingy. I can't help wondering if there were any if they would fit your walls, as the round bed I made with a curved headboard was is impossible to match with side tables as I spent so long fiddling with it I have no clue how to get a real good match (the angle of the curve). I am guessing its in the math which is not my strong suit. Sorry I can't help with the curtains but felt a explanation re curves/blender was better than nothing :-)

Do you actually have curved wall windows for those curtains to go onto? I think such curtains can be easily made, but they need to match a specific window, as default ones, as we know, don't have curved versions.

MisterS Those are actually fences, not windows, did you place them on a curved floor?

I've been thinking about this and I think Panuts may mean the bay windows? I could try it as it wouldn't be hard (hahahah) to make 3 tiles with the right angles if a bay window was in blender while doing it. Maybe, I'm a nubie to this and I dream big

freeasabird no I do not mean the bay window. Someone at MTS made cuved glass fences (glass walls). You can place as fences and use as cuved glass walls. It works really cool. I just wish you place curtains on them. But someone would have to create a curved curtain.

Edit - if they are designed to sit an the curved foundation thingy, would mean they are not curved, means you can place them so the look curved, is that correct ?

Mister you use the curved deck with rails and then you place the glass on them instead of the fence and they curve to the decking. you can adjust the height by using the different heights.

MisterS Yes, they're not curved unless you place them on a curved wall exclusively. Just like every other fence in the game.

Like I said, thy are not really curved, ie the mesh itself is not curved. To make curved curtains ideally you want a curved mesh to match them to. If you just made a curved curtain it would be guess work getting the curve right. If the window mesh was curved and you could pull into blender or whatever you could match any curved curtain to it. It could be done but with a lot of messing about.

I think it could be done easily for that curved fence. Well, at least making a mesh, I'm not sure how to texture it to get the transparent look, since I've never been interested in making transparent objects.

Drat does that make sense? The decking must follow a rule of curveness(?) so maybe if we knew that, the curtains may be easier to make?

You can bend things easily enough (well I can in max dunno bout blender) Thing is there is no reference to bend it to. I made flywire screen thingies, I used the window as a reference to place it correctly. Technically you could screen shot the curved fence and use it, but using a 2d reference for a 3d object requires guess work. Like i said, it can be done, I personal wont do it because I cant line it up in max first to see what it looks like.

Yeah well I can and after todays intense You Tube sessions theoretically I can bend in Blender, but the reality might be different. SO far I have used the bezian circle thing but it seems that a lattice will work much better if you have the knowing of it. I still need a great deal of practice with curves. The problem with them is that to achieve a really good smooth curve the mesh needs to be sub-divided, which creates lots of faces and stuff. I created a round bed that was perfect but impossible to use in the game because its looks were its downfall. I keep practicing though because curves makes most things more attractive.
