Unfortunate freeasabird I do not know enough about blender to be of any help, I do know it will do anything Max will do so there will be a way, I just wouldnt know how and would be only guessing.

The best way to learn is to break stuff along the way 8-)

freeasabird I know nothing about meshing. Right now I am trying to just learn the easy stuff and work my way up from there. But if you can make a mesh go for it. I would love it. Right now I am having a problem with walls. I figured out paintings. now moving on to something else. after I get all of my recolor knowledge then it will be time to move on to more exciting things. maybe meshes.

There are times Panuts that I think meshing is easier than re-colouring or any colouring. I have just learnt to set Blender to a limit of 2 when baking to make the texture for the object, but for me sometimes that is the hardest bit. And I know my way around photoshop :-) Walls are odd, I found that making the texture bigger (I think) than the template helps. There is a thread here with lots of good advice about making walls. Back to the curtains, I confess the only ones I have made from scratch are just passable to me, however, I had a thought along these lines. If I go in game and set a foundation I can see how it curves across the squares. I know there are many sizes so I would start with the smallest. (I do most things by eye as I'm practically number blind.) I might then be able to match the curve to a degree in blender. But give me time because at the moment I don't have a way to upload files and I know that bending in blender makes me crazy

Those glass walls are broken. Its not made with s4s. I put them in my game to look at them, then deleted them, back in game they reverted to the original fence, game crashes when i try to delete them. I put them back in the game and it still crashes, I strongly advise not to use them, its now ruined my whole house as there is a stupid bit of fence that wont go. Even if you have no problem I still advise not to use them.

Oh wow, sorry to hear that MisterS These walls do work in my game but perhaps it is best not to use them. I'm not sure if we can make fences with S4S, at least I haven't tried.

Hi, I put them in game today and had no problem deleting them. I have only two mods though I don't know if that could be a factor. Ah well making curtains for fences is more than hard. I couldn't do it. I made curved curtains but they won't sit on a fence,if I ticked the on fence box they will not sit on the curve. In addition they don't like being outdoors and so as curtains they slide through the floor and refuse to be pulled up on the fence. This may be my inexperience here but I did give it all day. What I ended up doing was cloning a screen and using it as a base for freestanding deco curtains that fit the curve. To get them really close I used the Alt key. Yes they are HUGE, I used the biggest window I could find as a test. They are just two planes and a cube, the pleats are a texture from another Maxis curtain. I'm a bit pants at pleated curtains and to be honest I didn't think it would work. They have been a bit decimated but seem to be holding up in the sunlight. I'll post the file if anyone would like to take a look and see if they can improve them or if you just want to play with them. Just took the fence file out my game, they deleted ok but I noticed they had **DEBUG** written in the description. I'm tempted to take a look inside them and find out why. Thanks for the info MisterS, I hope you can get lot sorted out eventually.

Hi, sorry I have been away a long while. They work as they are, I'm not sure that I will ever get them to work on a fence. Give me today to get a working one drive account going and I will post them. I should really have made smaller versions as well. Edit- oK I made 3 sizes, colours as above. Sorry for lack of pictures but they did look fine in my game. Feel free to re-colour and share. A mention would be nice Curved Curtains

I cloned a shop sign with a hanger on it, so they may have gone into eerr, blast it I can't recall where they should be as I don't make shops or use retail signs. Its a Back to work object I think? If you haven't got the pack they won't show. Try all the deco sections I think they are all £50. If You still can't find them I'll take another look at them, although I really did test them in my game and had them in there until last night. I'm sorry they are being a pain. :(
Ok just checked, I put in the description " Mesh cloned JF&S Retail Sign, from Get To Work." tagged in deco-misc.
