Hello simmers! Halloween is over (much to my dismay) and I hope all who celebrated had a good time. Since I shared my costume last year, I feel like this year's costume is even more relevant since me and my girlfriend dressed up like Sims 1 Mortimer and Bella Goth. Check it out HERE. Anyway, the two most anticipated packs (apart from Cats and Dogs and Seasons) are out or about to be out. Realm of Magic and Discover University, both very different packs with different playing styles for different kinds of simmers. That's the inspo for this prompt! As always, you can answer any prompt anytime or just write messages in this board for fun! Do you like to play the Sims realistically or with supernatural elements? Pick one or both and then explain why. For me, I think I've made it increasingly clear that I am a huge supernatural buff. I LOVED Vampires and I'm still having fun playing with RoM (with the help of mods). I'm personally someone who just really loves all things spooky and dark and I think that reflects in my gameplay. The Sims has never really been a game of a perfect recreation of reality, I prefer it when it's infested with all these occult states. Especially when in Sims 2 where it took some effort to track down certain objectives and turn your sims (and the ability to make hybrids). That being said, although I don't really like university gameplay, I am excited for the pack (mostly for the robots and secret society though). I'll probably get it if it's on sale for Black Friday / Cyber Monday. I know the community was very excited for this pack and I do hope it lives up to the hype because it does legitimately look fun. |

It's been a while since your question, but I'll pick the conversation back up for some actual chat  I really like a mix, a normal neighborhood that just so happens to have some supernatural things in it. I've had a farming family where the dad accidentally became a plantsim, and started a cult; a human/vampire marriage which was falling apart due to conflicting schedules; and I'm having a hoot with Triplis' sorcerer mod atm, with a house of witches. The minion escaped and got married, so the wicked witch came to the wedding and tried to make it the worst wedding ever: bladder accidents, causing the bride and groom to panic at one another, flirting with a guest's husband and accidentally making the wife so angry she died - what a wedding!
Unlike you, I'm not so fond of having to work to become a supernatural thing; if it's part of your story, that's OK; but if you just want to get on with it, it's just grindy. So I'm ok with it being easier & more open.

I feel like whenever I play with a family, they are either just normal families or supernatural soap opera with very little in between. You know, I said I like a challenge, but I actually also like being able to make supernatural sims straight away in cas. I feel like having both options available is the best compromise. Because Ive definitely had situations where I wanted to make a vampire family but then realize I gotta individually turn each one of them in gameplay and thats never fun. What's your favorite expansion pack from your favorite sims game?
City Living so far but I don't have many expansion packs in Sims 4 (Only started Sims 4 due to lockdown, waiting for a good sale).
My favourite expansion pack overall would be "Hot Date".
What's your LEAST favorite Expansion Pack to date?
After buying a lot of the Sims 3 expansion packs (don't remind me how much I spent...), I'm getting VERY picky with what I get in Sims 4.
So far, Cottage Living is at the bottom for me as that theme doesn't really attract me.
That said, I dislike supernatural stuff so there's A LOT of packs I am planning to miss.
What's a feature that you really want added to the Sims 4?
Ability to turn off the supernatural. Just not a fan of it.
If you could be famous for anything, what would you want to be famous for?
Playing tennis. I love Roger Federer.
How did you come up with your current username?

What is your playing style for the Sims?
I create Sims and play in live mode.
Not much of a builder and cannot create CC to save my life.

Japan, hence I'll be getting the Snowy pack once it goes on sale!
It has the best food, the people are always friendly and all mixture of shrines and latest tech means there's always something to admire.

I personally prefer realistically and try to immense myself with my Sims. This makes supernatural really intrusive and "pretend reality breaking" for me because I know I wouldn't want to meet an alien / vampire in real life. In fact, I miss having the ability to turn off all the occults (I've so far avoided packs with supernatural elements).

miscemayl Thank you for responding in this thread! It has been a hot minute since anyone has added to this, so I love that you went and answered all the prompts! While we definitely have a difference of opinion on supernatural gameplay lol, I do agree that there should be options to turn them off for realistic playthroughs. Actually, Sims 4 should really have a lot more options to customize/optimize the game to suit different playing styles. I hope you are enjoying your time on the forum and playing the Sims 4! Hopefully you can get your hands on Snowy Escape soon (I do believe it is actually 50% off as of now)!

Is it okay that I post this in this thread: I am new to Sims 4 but I am an old-school Simmer from way back in 1999 or 2000 ( whem Sims 1 first came out) playing Sims1.
What I wanted to say was thank you for the great program Sims 4 Studio. It is so user-friendly and I love using it to sort through CC removing swatches I don't care for and also repricing and recategorizing my CC.
I am thinking about dabbling with simple recolors. I found videos doing tutorials. I'll let you all know if I have luck.

* What's your favorite expansion pack from your favorite sims game?
My favorite Sims4 expansion pack is Get Together, I love the world what comes with it, the club feature is nice to use and organize sims in my opinion and also the premade sims are nice to look at!
For Sims3 It would be the Supernatural one thanks to the Werewolves and Fairies, my two favorite mythical creatures lol

Apart from Werewolves lol, I would love to see something kinda common here in México, Vecindades (IDK what would be the english translation of that word... Neighbourship? Vicinity?) a Vecindad is like an apartment complex, but instead of being in well... apartments, are houses of one or maybe two floors, all of them are connected to a big central patio. And even some of the houses share services like electricity or water.

Long ago, a friend gave me this nickname, my old username was "Huntah", but because I had always a cute vibe to them, they called me "Hugtah". The 12... could be because an Idol group I love now have 12 members lol

Create a Sim almost all the time, I'm not a good builder, but I been trying to play more, thanks to legacy challenges or not so berry

To be honest, I don't know, there are a lot of places I would love to visit, Japan, UK, The rest of LatinAmerica, Italy, India.
Because I would love to know better those countries and well, it would be nice.

Big fan of Kirby games! But I also enjoy games like Pokémon, Fire Emblem, Rhythim Games, and some visual novels
