Hi everyone I was wondering, is it possible to create base game glowing eyes/eyemasks like the vampires' ones? I've already done normal eyes recolor/standalone/mask, my question is if I can make them glow using S4S and GIMP. If it's a matter of maps I can read/watch tutorials and learn how to do, but if it's something impossible to do without Vampire pack I don't even try to learn it now. (PS:if you know someone that has already done this and has shared his/her creations I would be glad to have them in my game :D)

Hi! When I wanted glowing eyes, I made custom eye colors (both just the irises, and that covered the entire eye) in really bright colors, and they look kinda glowy. Hope this helped, I'm pretty much a novice

Hi ellieblue ! In the end I've bought the vampire pack (and learned how to make emission maps with png files). Thank you anyway for the reply

Hi, AleNikSimmer. I'm currently working on default replacements for the vampire eyes, but somehow don't manage to make only certain parts of the eyes glow. I was able to make them flash, though, so at least it seems like I'm on the right way. Since you said you learned how to make emission maps with png files and I can't save in dds, would you mind giving me some tips? I'm so sorry to annoy you with this, but these eyes are driving me mad. 😅

Hi puderosasims! I'm able to do emission maps with png that flashes too, I don't know if with this format you can make the emission continuous. Anyway, what I do is take an image the size of the normal map (for clothes for example is 1024x1024, for hat is something as big as the covered part in the texture map, for eyes I think it's the classic 1024x2048), then I place in there the parts of the texture I want to glow (I work with levels in gimp, so I take only the level I need) and color it with the color of the light I want (I usually use light colors, I don't think the dark ones work), then I fill everything else with black. After this I save the png and then re-import it in GIMP to change the transparency. The transparency tells how quick the flash is. I usually set it to 5-10% so that the pulse is very slow (note that the whole image must be affected by transparency, even the black parts). Then I import the new image in S4S and test in game

Hey guys, i realise this is an old post, and you may either already have figured it out, or you put it aside. However, for anyone else searching answers who might end up here like i did, i would like to leave a link for an excellent tutorial on how to make the eyes glow (without the blinking and such, but constant glow just like the original vampire eyes) modthesims.info/showthread.php?t=633891&page=1&pp=25Here Merkaba explains how to use DDS file for the Emission rather than PNG, hope this helps someone else in the future tried the guides in this thread and tried the guide in the link ive left. It took me many tries to get it down, but i finally succesfully made my own custom vampire eyes
