I'm trying to make the towel wrap for men and male children an accessory so I can recolor it as a native american dressing to wear over hide pants, I've cloned a pair of glasses, since my tribe wont be needing glasses--but now I've run into the issue: HOW SHOULD I WEIGHT IT. because if I weight it to the head, I assume it's going to float.....Help?

hi! they weight, vertex paint, and uv_1 is already done in the outfit by default.. since it's a EA's item. You just need to delete the body parts and only leave the towel. Change the cut numbers to match the original accessory and test it. You might have to move the UV to other spot since it's going to override the pants.. but maybe not.. again, test it first.

Ooph that was super confusing. So I don't have to weight it? I imported it as an object.

hi! no, you don't have to do it like that but with "append". Object folders, and the group you'd like to include. It will automatically include a copy of the rig, so delete that one. When you click on the appended group, head over to bones and you'll see all the information is there.

mmm what exactly happens when you click "append"? what exactly are the steps you do? By using the import/object.. you're deleting all the information of the mesh that is perfectly fine and making it re do it all over. including the uv_1. In my opinion that's just too much work to do when the item doesn't need it. it'd be amazing to figure out why it isn't working or what's happening.. so that you have less things to do.

I deselect everything, I go into object mode, append, nothing. I re-select everything, I go into object, append, nothing. I deselect everything, I go into edit mode, append, nothing. I re-select everything, I go into edit mode, append, nothing.
It just hates me. I think I got it to work one time, while ago. But I don't remember what tutorial I was following or what I did. From my understanding, what I am doing SHOULD be correct.. :(

What you need to do is go to File/Append and select the blend file you want to apent. When you do select the blend file , it will show up a lot of folders that are the data inside that .blender. You need to go to the one named object and then select the meshes. If you cloned an EA item using studio, it will be the ones named s4studio_mesh_*

If you're doing what mathcope just wrote here, then maybe your blender is bugged. Try re-downloading it from the s4s beta download page and re install it. Once mine got bugged with something i can't remember right now.. but it got fixed by doing that. You don't need to uninstall anything, just re install.
