So I successfully converted some hair styles. In blender they're normally placed on the scalp, but in the thumbnails, and when I try to test it in game it's off the scalp.

I'm no expert on bones, but I see your hair only has 1 attachment (head) and it also doesn't have a uv_1. From my experience, even the shortest of EA hairs have other bone assignments, so if you've been removing them your self (I don't know what you cloned off of), you shouldn't have. Also, you have the same mesh in both of your hat chops, which means your hair will clip through hats. If you're very new to meshing and don't feel comfortable creating hat chops yourself, I'd advise you to clone off of a similar hair, such as the basegame top bun, replacing the regular mesh with yours and leaving the chops as they are.
