Hi, so I frankenmeshed a couple EA hairs together and then I weight painted the hair to my liking, but now I'm noticing this hairline problem. vvv Whenever I make a sim's body larger or a sim's shoulders broader, the hairline mesh moves with it. Also, whenever I hover my mouse over the shoulders, the shoulders and the hairline become highlighted. I'm not quite sure what the problem is. :/ Here's a link to the .package file and the .blend file. I'm pretty new at meshing so I'm sure it's a silly mistake. Thank you!

ummm. i don't really understand why exactly is doing that, but doing a frankenmesh doesn't require touching any bones or weights since those two things are already done and present in all the hairs already. The only thing that needs to be changed depending on the hair is the UV mapping, nothing else.

Well, I had pushed part of the hair back and lengthened it, and then added a shortened braid to the back. The weight painting kinda had to be adjusted to look correct. I'm just not sure why the hairline is kind of attached to the shoulders now.

i see. try deleting all the parts of the hairline that you're having issues with and importing them again from the original hair.

i see. try deleting all the parts of the hairline that you're having issues with and importing them again from the original hair. this worked to fix my original hairline problem. however, now I'm having a shading problem that only occurs after replacing the broken hairline with the original hairline. I'm pretty sure that reimporting the original hairline causes this problem. It's not the shadow or texture because all I did was change the hairline mesh and now my hair appears darker on all the swatches. :/

mmmm you say that if you re import again the broken blend, the shading problem is fixed? or was it always there?

mmmm you say that if you re import again the broken blend, the shading problem is fixed? or was it always there? no, it wasn't there when I was having issues with the hairline moving with shoulders. I tried to reimport the hairline from the original hair like you suggested and then the shading problem appeared. I tried a bunch of different things to fix the new shading problem and nothing was working so I went back to trying to fix the original problem with the hairline and shoulders. I ended up finding out that I foolishly deleted my uv_1 earlier on in the meshing process and that was what was causing the shoulders problem. And since I didn't have to delete the hairline and then reimport it, the new shading problem didn't occur. everything's good now, though I'm not sure why changing the hairline caused the shading issue but ah well. thank you for your help!

oh that's odd. now i'm curious why that happened.. like.. the mesh doesn't have anything to do with shading.. at least THIS type of darker shading. oh well, glad everything is working :D
