Last year I asked in another thread about solving this problem. I'm wondering if anyone can help me understand how to make them compatible? Given the choice of only using the non-simglass type hair near the eyes, I have resigned myself to original "solid" Maxis eye lashes when simglass hair is nearby. I just tried the beautiful lashes by laracroftfan1 sims4studio.com/post/29170/threadThey experience the same issue, at least with this hair (Anto_S4Hair_Mollie) With Maxis lashes of course they are fine. But this hair sclub_ts4_hair_n2_f seems to work!

There was another post about this HERE where both inabadromance and I posted. I couldn't tell from the OP's final post which answer helped unfortunately but one of them did.

Thanks orangemittens ! The issue is definitely with (at least) sortlayer. Setting the eyelashes to sortlayer of 17100 puts it "behind" the hair (typically at 12000). There is an unfortunate side effect of that but it's better than lashes showing through hair! When the hair (this one has sort layer 12000) is in front of the face as seen below, the lashes are obscured even when no hair is in front of them, i.e. for the right eye. But this hair, created with sortlayer 0, from this angle shows the lashes. And, when viewed from the front, the lashes are visible but they become part of the eyelid except where they are aligned with the hair. I'm going to experiment with other parameters such as AdditionalTextureSpace and BodyType set to eyeliner, with SortLayer 5300, referencing brujah 's SortLayer post. I'll reply again with my findings.
