Changing Accesories in NPC career

Is there an option to change the career outfit accessories for NPC career sims (Bartender, doctor, librarian etc) that you are not playing? I can change them in CAS well enough (skin and so on that affects how they look when they are NOT working), but any attempt to change career outfit accessories fails. Using Zerbu's work outfit mod does not work either since as soon as you have a NPC Career sim become an played sim to be able to click on the dresser he or she looses their NPC job....

I want to be able to use notegain's elven ears, but they are added to accessories which causes above problem. Can anyone help?
