Hello, so i'm working in a new set of meshes, they include some of the requested items roguekurosawa12 posted. I'm currently working on this item, as you can see it has a glass in the front face. The problem is, I would like to add slots so people can actually place stuff inside... I've tried to do it as usual (cloned the slots and place them, I had to go even through the object in the studio view to place them correctly) but it is not possible to place them in the game. The glass block every attempt to go through and place any slot at all, I would like to know if is there a way to fix this? Should I clone something different? (I've cloned a base game dining cabinet) HERE is the .package if someone needs it. Thank you!

I started to make this too ages ago but things happened in my life and I never got round to finishing it off, but I had the same issue as you (part of the reason I never finished it) The only fix I can think of is adjust the footprint width so the front of the footprint sits behind the glass and see if that will work. I think its the bottom row of numbers here, I'm guessing though, but try and halve them for a start and see what happens.

Do the slots work when moveobjects cheat is enabled? If so, you could make a small note that MOO is needed for the slots. Most people use MOO anyway, since even on normal basegame objects not ALL slots will work AT THE SAME TIME without MOO.

No they don't unfortunately j . I tried to turn it on before placing them but still the same. The glass acts like a wall, nothig can go through. Even in the Studio 3d View I cannot see the slots, I had to go so close to the mesh until I break in to place them correctly. About the footprint thing, Would it be better if I remove the footprint at all? I know my sims won't work correctly with the object but I cant think of a better solution...

My only other idea was to make the glass a separate object to be placed after you put deco in it

That's exactly what i was thinking... I think I would do that if I can't find any other solution. Make the glass a separate object so I can fill up the cabinet and then place the glass... but i was wondering if was any other solution I didn't know. Anyways, thank you for your help

So I just looked better at the slots in the Studio and they looked odd, instead of cylinders they looked like purple pyramids.. no idea, so I re-make the slot assigment, and it works now!! Even with the glass in the object! weird pyramids. The only problem is that once you place a item inside you cant move it again.. But I'd guess that's not that bad.

Good job on getting it working. I had the same issue with one of my pieces concerning removing the objects once placed. I found that if I zoom in enough, I can grab the objects again. Only solution I found.

On another note, if you look in the warehouse there are two tiny DST images, 16x16 and 4x4, from what I have worked out they are the bump and spec for the glass, blanking them out will make the glass look better.

Thanks you both! I will try zooming in and see if the objects can be pulled out. About the bump and spec of the glass. Glad you pointed it out because since the mesh has 2 textures I forgot to replace those. !! Thank you!!

Wait, so did you manage to fix the slots? It's weird that they're triangles, that would explain why they're not working properly. I don't know what was the issue with the ones you added, but I've removed them and added 2 new ones (1 small and 1 medium) and they seem to work. At least based on the way they look in S4S, I haven't tested in-game. Maybe you can just clone off of them to make your other slots? They're behind the shelf right now. www.mediafire.com/download/3kpp167o6pzll5i/KurosawaDiningCabinetwithGlass_Mathcope.package

Thank you j! . Yes I did manage to fix them by making them again, the triangles were the issue but I don't really know why they happened. Anyways it works now
