Hi! I posted recently here about recolouring the alien outfits here. What I want to have is one outfit with multiple swatches, each using a different emmision map (like in Simsperience's Alien Armor Recolors). I tried adding the different maps in the workshop by changing each swatch's "emission map" instance to the one I wanted. That resulted in a pulsing, multicoloured outfit that was interesting but not what I wanted. More fiddling with the workshop brought me to this, which had somehow applied the emission map from my previous question, despite it not being part of the current package file. I know this can be done, I'm just not sure how.

I took a look at the recolors you linked to and they are, indeed, recolors rather than clones that contain a Geometry resource or a new emission map. The diffuse map is apparently able to work with the emission map to alter the color on the glowing parts of the garment. If you wanted to have different colors like this you may be able to just make different swatches for your item rather than adding new emission maps. The emission map is referenced in the CAS Part and in the Geometry resources. If you changed the reference in the CAS Part and your edit was ignored it is probably the case that the emission map behaves like the bump map does...that is it goes by the reference in the Geometry resource rather than by the one in the CAS Part. If that is the case you would need to include a full mesh for each emission map that you wanted to add.
