Hi, S4S community.
Im new to the Sims-modding scene and mainly am struggling with some textures.
I'm a Moba/Role-player who started enjoying Sims4 for some time now. I want to create a Diablo3 theme pack which contains wings, armor and a weapon of 2 well known characters in the Diablo universe.
The biggest problem I'm having is texturing the wings of Imperius. I've never used Blender before, thats why i make my models with Cinema4d. Texturing those pieces isnt the main problem but the space i have to use.
The textures are a 1024x2048 which is not enough for every detail.
To deal with this problem I'd have to make a perfect UVmap of my model to lay some parts over others to save space. What i need would be a easy option to do so. I saw the tutorial about how to creat a UVmap already.
I dont even know how to move properly in Blender.. Making those cuts is a pain for me.
If someone could link me some good tutorials or methods to learn this or even give me a option to convert my C4d UVs to Blender, I'd be thankfull.
Here are the models im talking about:
I use the big panels to paint some easy white wings on them, which is already finished but i had to cut out the armor piece because i needed the whole UVmap to make sure the wings look atleast some kind of decent.
Now thats the part where I cant find a solution for. I tried making the armor as a separate piece in the sunglasses-slot but the UVmap for those is even smaller.
What i already thought about, making the armor as a seperate hat which would give me enough space to give it some textures but i would need some sort of script or setting to "equip" 2 hats on 1 Sim.
The short version:
Am i able to "equip" 2 hats at once through a script, setting or whatever?
Is there a easy way to make a good UVmap in Blender?
Is there a way to convert my Cinema4D UVmaps?
If nothing is a valid option, where do i learn to make good UVmaps in Blender?
Animating
Now my second problem/question: How do i animate my creations?
I searched for tutorials but couldnt find one.
What i need to know is:
am i even able to animate sims clothing?
How can i export my Cinema4D animations to Blender?
and how do i set them up in Sims4Studio.
If it's important, i wanted to animate a heartshaped hat i created. It should spin in a circle.
I hope you can see the blue heart with the little arrow.
This object should rotate in a 35second animation which turns the object by 10 degrees every second.
Those are the Diablo spikes, the first item i made. I know the textures are a bit buggy but that shouldnt be a problem.
I wanted those outer spikes to move up and down while the Sim moves.
I either need a script to activate a animation as soon as the Sim move or a special Spline which binds the object to the legs or something to move up and down while moving.
Hopefully someone is able to give me some tips.
If i posted something thats already been answered, i apologize. I searched the forums for 2 days already^^.
Additional Information, notes:
If anyone needs help in things like, modeling in Cinema4D, using Photoshop or creating animations, I'll try to help as good as i can.
I'm not sure if Cinema4D is even a thing here but I could make a lil tutorial about how to use it if you are interested.
If you are interested in the universe or if you dont know where those characters are from, here are some additional links to them and a picture of the already finished wings i made.:
