Hey I am wondering if anyone knows how to write on a mirror? The pic below is my wip of the picture, don't mind Gemma....*rolls eyes* I want it to look like someone wrote a word(s)/quote on it with lipstick, but I have no idea where to start. I tried to use the texture it game me and nothing showed up..I did notice that the Mirror glass itself is its own mesh..but thats about it... Thanks for the help SSSims

why not create a decal that you can place over the mirror ?
Clone the bunny stickers and edit the mesh slightly so that it sits away from the wall by moving the mesh . then just recolor what you want it to say and make the rest transparent using a .png or if its a .dds edit the alpha around the words to be black
( I suck at explaining )

Kiwi's proposal is a very easy one that won't require changing the object's mesh or uv map. If you want a quick fix, I suggest you try this.
However, if you want your object to be one item I think that would be possible as well, though more complicated. What you would have to do is change the mesh of the frame. The mirror is its own mesh for a reason and I think changing those texture files and selectively removing reflective properties would be even more difficult and, depending on how the game handles those files (I have no experience with trying to change mirror textures in TS4) it might even be impossible.
Right now, the frame mesh has a hole where the mirror mesh fits in. What you have to do is add a simple plane between the frame, just in front of the mirror mesh. After editing the uvmap to include your plane you add your recolour to it. Following this, you have to edit the alpha of the frame (much like you would the decal) to make the portion of that plane (not the entire frame) around your lipstick recolour black. This will make that invisible.
Now I have never tried to do anything like this myself in TS4 so you may hit a few snags on the way (the biggest issue that may occur is with how the mirror is rendered and what it will do underneath and around the decal, you would have to try it out and see) but I am fairly confident it can work. However; it does require knowledge of some basic meshing, mapping and alpha editing so if you don't want to do this, go with Kiwi's suggestion.
I hope this helped.
