Even though I'm American, Neopets taught me to spell it 'grey' (and also Faerie > Fairy) :P

Its Grey, Gray is a name as in Gray's Anatomy (The book not the show)

I asked the question because I have always spelled it (the color) Gray, but my mother has always spelled it Grey and lately I've been seeing it spelled as Grey more that Gray.  Spirashun at fist I had no clue what you were talking about when you said "neopets" until it dawned what you were talking about. I have it confused with something else though (I think). What was the little hand-held game where the player could console, change diaper, etc? @stevenssimsstuff LOL why are you always picking on me.......you Big Bully!!! LOL Did it even occur to you that I spelled it wrong intentionally? NO? Me either!! MisterS are you sure about that? And I didn't know there was a book named Gray's Anatomy. |

According to a dictionary,here in the USA, the color is spelled Gray
But...
Gray and grey are different spellings of the same word, and both are used throughout the English-speaking world. Gray is more common in American English, while grey is more common in all the other main varieties of English. In the U.K., for instance, grey appears about twenty times for every instance of gray,in the U.S. the ratio is reversed.
Some people make their own distinctions between gray and grey,for most people, gray and grey are simply different spellings of the same word.

I usually go with 'grey' but as far as I know, either 'grey' or 'gray' are technically correct. (Depends on the dictionary you use, perhaps, but I'm pretty sure mine listed both, one as an alternate spelling.)

I have always known it to be grey.But if am drunk in Palm wine I might misspell it as gray.
