If you are using a bench or any item that does not use an alpha channel, you cannot just not simply add one in photoshop or whatever. It looks like it works but the mesh cant read it. There is a tut here that explains how to add one sims4studio.com/thread/1037/make-object-transparency-add-alphaBut I dunno how out of date it is now and Ive never done it, read it once but its to complicated for me. I usually try and find something already that has an alpha What did you use as a clone and what are you trying to achieve ?

I have cloned a bench (3 seats), and, have tried to change the material setting to enable that alpha effect. The linked tutorial use the old version S4S. I tried to follow the steps. I find out that my package has no field of "AlphaBlended". My first try is to add that field. But that is not the right solution. My second try is to clone it as a plant decoration. The alpha effect works in game. But I want this ivy be a bench. My third try is to compare the setting of Model LOD 00000000 and Model 0000000 of both packages. I found out that it does not need to add "AlphaBlended" but to add "AlphaMap". I have also changed numbers under "Double Sided" and "Alpha Mask Threshold". Now, it works in game. I am so exited! You are right. The error was not because of texture. Thanks for your kind feedback and useful hint! One general question more: Under Warehouse/Model/Lods/Edit Items, why do the "HighDetail Flags" and "MediumDetail Flags" not have the buttom "Edit Items" of meshes?

Oh, wait. The high LOD and low LOD work fine, but not the medium LOD. Which path has the medium LOD?

The medium LOD is usually in the Model, which is why it has the edit items button on it but the others don't.

The medium LOD is usually in the Model, which is why it has the edit items button on it but the others don't. Hi andrew , I have fixed the alpha setting of medium LOD. Others as the tutorial "How to make an object have transparency (add alpha)" Read more: sims4studio.com/thread/1037/make-object-transparency-add-alpha#ixzz3wyhSilJwThe Model LOD 00000001 must be edited, too. ---- The medium mesh under Model have no edit path: If you open my package (in dropbox); open Model 00000000; Click Lods-Edit Items; There are the three mesh LOD from high to low. But the high and medium one have no "Edit Item" buttom.

How to make plant shadow? Since shadow mesh doesn't have texture, is there no alpha edit for shadow, yes?

The game uses alpha images when it makes shadows from the shadow LODs.

Hi orangemittens, thanks for reply. The point is: I have cloned a 3-seats-bench to make this ivy and have added Alpha etc. to LOD 00000000, LOD 00000001 and Model 00000000. If I enlarge this item, I can see that its shadow in game is still roughly rectangular. I've made an other ivy, just cloned from the potted palm decoration (without adding anything in warehouse). This one has corresponding shadow -- One can see the shadow of leaves. Are the edit of shadow mesh material under Model LOD 00010000 to 00010002? That ivy decoration doesn't has those tabs. Why? Do you know how to fix the shadow of my ivy-bench?

Sun setting park bench (from get together)
or
Love is in the air love seat from the base game both have alphas. (that was two I found)
Even if they are only two seaters be easy to scale them up to three seats and import the rig and slots from any old three seater.
Look for any seat that has a wrought iron affect or similar, they will have (should) an alpha

Thanks MisterS! This information is helpful. How to add seat-rigs?

In the warehouse export the rig and slots from a three seater (from the right hand window) and then import them into your mesh
And at a guess you will have to change the tuning id too - Object Definition scroll down on the right a bit and find the Tuning and Tuningid copy and paste both of them into your mesh too.
That should work.

Hi MisterS , I have added a ivy loveseat, cloned from "Love is in the air love seat", non edit in warehouse. You are right, that bench has alpha settings of meshes. But the shadow meshes have no alpha. Thus, the shadow of that has also roughly shape -- like that of 3 seaters ivry bench. Actually, the middle part of wrought iron of "Love is in the air love seat" has no light through effect, too. I really want to know, which shadow settings has that "potted plam". I've tried to look up the tree reference. But I don't get it yet.
