New to this, need to edit hat meshes for hair

OK, you should go to S4S, choose "Create 3d mesh" under CAS category, click CAS, then choose the hair mesh you'd like to edit, click "next", name and save your .package, go to "Meshes" and click "Export", name and save it, then open the file in Blender. There you can see all the 3 meshes: original hair and 2 hat meshes. Here are some screenshots:
