I'm making this new alpha hair mesh, and I've been following this tutorial Here, Specially on the z-sorting part, and I've tried several times unmerging and merging the mesh from top to bottom but can't seem to get it right. Currently I had the mesh not on double sided and keep the number of hair cards minimum, just to make it easier to troubleshoot anything.. and I tried any possible way to merge them correctly, but the alpha seems to be clipping in the game regardless,

Eevee? Is the transparency mode of that material set to Alpha Clip? If so, that's why. Change to Alpha Hashed.
Cycles? Material Preview view mode? If so, that uses Eevee. Switch to Render Preview view mode.

I give it a shot, changed into alpha hash in my blender file, it's still clippingalthough I suspect the case might be within the game's shader itself, just want to know the way to workaround it

The alpha hair must be imported already triangulated. If the triangulate modifier wont work, export it as obj or fbx and import back Behind this section of hair is not another but the head, meaning the transparency issue would not occur regardless.

thanks for the fast reply! So I triangulate the mesh, then I exported the hair mesh into .obj and re-import it back, re-did all the steps from uv_1, vertex color, and weight transfer, make sure it's the correct cut and then, created new hair package, import the texture and mesh, changed the shader into glassshader..( ignoring hat chop and LOD for now ) everything looks okay, but the clipping still persist, I deeply just don't understand z-sorting with hair alpha. here are the files I might missed something in the process. they're really messy right now, I just want to fix the clipping before polishing anything up

You cannot see and fix the issue without setting up the material to display it How to fix the transparency issue with alpha hair in The Sims 4
Important note: if you found this post by googling or it was linked to you, make sure to prepare your hair fist by assigning the material and removing the other side as explained in the second and third sections here, otherwise nothing will work!

Plug the hair texture'alpha into the material's alpha, enable Camera in backface culling, switch Render method to Blended, then follow the tutorial as explained
