I was making new lights for TS4 and I noticed whenever I changed the light color under color and intensity, my entire mesh would take on the altered color. While browsing S4S forums I found this thread started by saudade-sims4 and even though her issue was about a fridge and stove, I believe it helped me solve my lighting issue with my lights. The info was posted by @omorfi-mera, and I was just wondering if this was the appropriate fix for this particular issues with lights. However, I no longer see the glow on the ground but I'm hoping that's suppose to be that way.

This is an EA lamp that is similar to yours and here is how its vertex paint looks in Blender: As you can see it has solid black paint on the outside and solid white paint on the inside. Anywhere there is solid black paint there will be no lightening when the lamp is turned on. Anywhere there is solid white the item will lighten when the lamp is turned on. This adds more realism to the act of turning the lamp on. If the entire mesh is painted white (Blender's default vertex paint color and the default color Studio uses) then when the lamp is turned on the entire mesh will be affected by the lightening effect. If the shade of the light has been turned purple this will cause the entire mesh to take on a purple tint. If the entire mesh is painted black then there will be no lightening effect on the object at all. What you could do is paint your lamp similar to how this EA lamp is painted. This would make the interior portion of your lamp, the part underneath the light part, light up when the lamp is on. Vertex paint should not affect the glow from the lamp that is cast on the ground to the best of my knowledge. If this is what's happening post the .package so someone can take a look

Ah okay. I ended up just painting the bulb portion, but I never thought to paint the interior, Thanks I shall go back and make the minor edit.

If you want a more subtle lightening effect on the lamp interior compared to the bulb portion use a light shade of grey for the vertex paint instead of pure white. The darker the vertex paint the less lightening will be applied in the game.
