I've been making a shampoo bottle and I think everything is going alright, with the exception of this one thing. When I check my cc in game it has a weird shadow along an edge. I've merged all the vertices connected to the point it starts at, which helped a little, but it's still there. It doesn't show up in Blender or S4Studio, just TS4.

Hi. The photo does not work, but merging vertices is what creates this shadow. By default, the game shades everything as smooth. The shadow appears along edges that are meant to be sharp. To make them that, you need to split the mesh along these edges. Select the bottom of the bottle and Mesh - Split - Selection

To make them that, you need to split the mesh along these edges. Select the bottom of the bottle and Mesh - Split - Selection I merged the vertices because of the shadow. I previously hadn't merged any of them, things were separate. I merged vertices because I read on Reddit something about that being a possible solution, but it wasn't in the end.

They need to be separated Would it be okay if I uploaded my .blend file for you to look at? I saved the version before I merged vertices as a separate file. I think it has separated vertices at those points, but I don't have things the way you mean because the shadow is visible even in Blender.

Yes, share your blend please
Edit: I still have your file. It should be split in these places. You can select most of them with Select - Sharp edges, Angle to 70, then add or deselect more by Shift-clicking on them. Then Mesh - Split - Faces by edges
Theres a hole in the mesh at the back of the pump, btw

Oh, I see now. Thank you very much. I'll try that out. I think I fixed that hole already, but I will definitely make certain of that. Thanks ^^ (I legit only just noticed the quick reply box.)

It doesnt need to be split on the side. Enable x-ray, in side view click a,d drag to select these areas of the mesh that should be smooth, Mesh - Merge - By distance
