Hi S4Player, RGBA8 is what it is called in GIMP. In Paint.NET, try saving as DDS "B8G8R8A8 (Linear, A8R8G8B8)" with no mipmaps.

Thank you andrew . Saving the images in said image format with Paint.Net did the trick. The cutom likes and dislikes finally beat the Llama icon And thank you helaene for pointing out the format issue! I would have never guessed. I don't even need the tuning file because importing the newly created (format fixed) images into my existing override package file (incl. the buffs) works fine now just as I wanted it from the very first begining. No extra tuning file needed.
After all this trial and error my project can finally come to an end. - Again, thank you from the bottom of my ♥ for the help!

Awesome - congrats! Yes, the tuning files were just for referencing the correct IDs, no need to override them.
