Not sure if this is the right place to ask but I'm an avid CC user and while removing my mods folder into my USB stick, apparently it went corrupt and deleted most of the crucial files (like hair, skin details, etc). I've seen people using S4TI to figure out which CC is which from their String Table (the 0x00000000 one) but these same people never answered any question of how they actually figure everything out. Does anyone know how to find a specific CC from its String Table alone????? Idk if it's appropriate to attach screenshots because I have a lot of Sims missing their CCs thanks to my USB stick acting up:/

Losing CC is always bad. Are you talking about the red entries sometimes showing in S4TI? Can you post a picture? If your cc is completely missing then you can try searching for the creators name to see if you can find it again. Or even post a CC list here of some stuff that you would like to refind and maybe someone can help you find it or even have it and can share it with you in case a creator is no longer active. Moving your mods folder as a backup to an USB Stick only is not always a good choice. It's better use an extern ssd hard drive, or an intern second hard drive. I have both and always duplicate my mods folder backups just in case

Yeah, I learned it the hard way to not use USB sticks when removing mods folder :( Luckily all their accessories, clothes and eye-related CCs are safe, the missing files are their hair, makeup (mainly lipsticks), shoes and skin details. While I remember some of the creator's name, unfortunately most of them I don't (especially skin details). And yep, I mean the red entries in S4TI! Here's an example below (ignore the traits, I remember who the creators are since I mostly uses KiaraSims4Mods'); Wait can the picture be seen??? Because in my laptop it doesn't

Were you moving your CC around? And why?
It's always a good idea to have at least one backup of files you don't want to lose (keep the files on your computer, or keep a copy on an external harddrive, or some such), so you're not stuck with just one copy that can easily get corrupted. Always copy the files instead of moving them.
USB sticks are fine for moving around files as long as you've got copies elsewhere, but an external harddrive (that doesn't see too much plugging in and out or constant usage) would often be better for backups.

Yeah unfortunately I learned it the hard way:/ The USB Stick was literally new so I didn't think much about it until I realized majority of them were gone from their subfolders. And yep, I was moving CC around to create some space so I can update the game.

hpouue there is no picture.Upload a picture and post the link here. Hey there, sorry for the late reply! This is a picture of my screenshot from S4TI (Fortunately I found my Sims' hair, so let's ignore that) imgur.com/a/ZSth98ri hope you don't mind me putting the link directly because the link as an attached image is not working somehow

Could this tool help? modthesims.info/d/663086/sims-4-mod-cc-manager-2021-by-gametimedev-beta-v1-0-7.htmlIt's very new and in beta, but the discord server is busy with people discussing and receiving help. I have been hunting through my many many gigabytes of mods after not having played Sims4 since 2019. I always kept a backup of folder of every mod I downloaded and categorized them by 'added to the game', 'saved for later', 'removed', 'problems', etc as well as "beauty" "buildbuy" "seasonal" "scripts" "clothes" "shoes" etc. I made some of my own little mods, so I kept them, and I would merge my own custom packages using Sims 4 Studio. And I'm hanging around here today because I am going through my CC eliminating issues, and problematic content, myself using S4S which you can download here on this site. You might also be able to use S4S to help.. *you'll need blender. *I already had blender installed, I have had blender set up for 15 years, but the last time I installed it was back in 2019 and I just installed it through Steam that time, and it was the easiest setup I've had with it. I know how frustrating it is when you just want to play your sims again. Hope you get it all worked out.
