I searched all over the forums to find a thread where anyone else had a similar problem, and I can't find it, so please let me know if I missed it and this should be moved someplace else, but... I like to use s4s to open CC that I download to properly organize them in my mods folder, and I was just trying to do that, when this kept happening to almost every .package I clicked on: s4s not showing CC preview- imageIt looks like the screen does when you open a merged file, except none of the files are merged (yes, I did try to un-merge them to prove it) and nothing ever loads, it just stays blank and white. I had an older version of s4s, and when EA updated my ts4 game last night, I thought the patch for s4s glitched and that's why it wasn't working. So I went and downloaded the most updated version and uninstalled the old version from my computer, but still this is happening. I can't find anyone else having this problem anywhere else, so please, if anyone has a solution, I'm all ears! Thanks so much in advance for any help!

Hi. Try moving those package files away from your desktop Hi! Thank you so much for responding! I moved the folder of items I've been trying to open to my downloads, my documents, and even fully in the mods folder for my ts4 game, and restarted s4s completely between each move, it's still giving me the same problem :(

Hmm 1. Are you sure you have only one version of s4s on your computer at the moment? 2. Where is it installed( the path to it)? 3. Maybe try a fresh re-install (but make sure to delete all other versions). But before you do, check if there’s anything you’ve done differently from this sims4studio.com/post/192873

But before you do, check if there’s anything you’ve done differently from this sims4studio.com/post/192873Okay, I checked my entire computer and there's no other versions of s4s anywhere, not even in the trash bin. Then I did a full reinstall following the directions on the download guide. The only difference I can find is where the suggested path says EAapp\The Sims 4\ and mine says Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\The Sims 4\Here and I don't want to just jump in and change that in case it messes up something else, so advice would be appreciated. All of your help so far has been appreciated too!

andrew do you happen to know what can cause s4s to not be able to open regular cas packages in a « broken interface » type of way? I don’t think I’ve ever seen this before

If it helps narrow down the troubleshooting:
-like I said in my original post, it's not every CAS file, but it's most of them. Out of all the files I looked at today, 150 opened just fine, but 348 opened with that blank error screen -it's not dependent on CAS types, all the files I looked at today are categorized as AF Tops and some opened, and some didn't. -it's not dependent on certain creators, all the creators that I have CC from had files that opened and files that didn't.
Let me know if there's any more information you need to help me figure this out, I'm very, very grateful for all of your help... (also you know you're in bad when they gotta call in the big guns 😬😅)

Y'all... I am the dumbiest dummy you will ever meet...
I was going through my mods folder to find other merged files of AF Tops to organize them while I waited for a solution, and I found one that had an identical folder of identical files to the files I had separated that were "corrupted." After I removed those files, I tried the original "corrupted" files again and it still didn't work. But when I replaced them with the new copies I had just found? Everything is back to normal... 🙃🙃🙃
I just wanted to say thank you for spending your day trying to help me fix this, even though it was entirely my fault 😅😂 the problem was duplicate files still in the mods folder.

Everything is back to normal... 🙃🙃🙃 I just wanted to say thank you for spending your day trying to help me fix this, even though it was entirely my fault 😅😂 the problem was duplicate files still in the mods folder. Sorry for the necropost, but this happened to me too! Currently in the process of deep-cleaning my Mods folder, I came across a piece of cc that I wanted to view in S4S, but when it opened, it was empty, like 100% just like in your pic. I didn't think much of it, thought maybe I downloaded a bad file, ok w/e. Eventually I came across ANOTHER file that also showed nothing in S4S, and it was by a diff creator. I became suspicious after maybe the 3rd or 4th cc, and it took me forever to realize they all were 0 KB?? And before I knew it, I was looking at hundreds of corrupt files scattered thru my cc folders. Old cc, new cc, you name it. Pure horror story. So a blank S4S and 0 KB/empty files are an indication of corruption for anybody else with this issue. I think something happened to them when I transferred them to a external HD from a faulty D drive on my old laptop, (thank you very much MSI) because when I checked the files on my external, I discovered there were the original files in a folder, and then there were the corrupted files in a duplicate of the same folder. I must have copied over some contents of the corrupt folder in the end. Unfortunately the only way I was able to restore them was a.) I had a backup of like 99% of the originals thank goodness, and b.) re-download what I didn't have where available from the creator's sites or SFS
