i am quite good at frankenmeshing sims hair and I was wondering if its legal to put the hairs I made behind a temporary paywall since the hair consists of hair the ea team made and some of it comes from the dlcs

Hi. Permanent paywalls are illegal, no matter what is behind them. Selling TS4 gaming assets (.package, .script, etc) goes against TS4 license agreement, even if you made them from scratch. No one will sue or report you, but people really do not like it when creators do this, it will turn supporters away from you. Temporary paywalls are legal. If people have an option to download your content for free, but still choose to pay, this does not really qualify as « selling cc». They do this more to support or encourage you rather than obtain « goods ». The only thing, though, I would advice to not make them wait too long because, again, people do not like that. You want them to support you because they like what you do, not because they are tired of waiting. Frequent releases is what makes people like and subscribe to patreons, not long wait, so 1-2 weeks is perfect.
As for using parts of pack items. While making them bgc is considered piracy, regardless of whether it is behind a paywall or not, nobody polices or enforces rules
