If you like your name, then it has meaning. It's a word that refers to you, and you seem like the kind of person who is plenty meaningful. Plus, I like the name Jojo, it suits you from what I've seen so far, it's playful and cute, but without being too childish. Good qualities in a name. Wow - thanks! Your makin' me kinda blush ova here, not use to hearing such nice compliments! I'm pretty darn playful and like to joke around, so if you think my name reflects that, then I'm happy!

Your makin' me kinda blush ova here, not use to hearing such nice compliments! I'm pretty darn playful and like to joke around, so if you think my name reflects that, then I'm happy! I'm very complimentary, I get a lot of joy from making other people feel loved and happy. Sadly, it's that level of empathy and compersion that also hurts me the most (I can't stand not seeing people happy, at least good people, and it's messed me up pretty badly), but I try to maintain that as much as possible. When they're not hurting each other, people are wonderful, and everyone should feel like it. Also, at my best, I'm a terrible flirt. I like making people happy, and the more happiness I can derive, the more joy I get, so I'm a bit of a hedonist. That said, people aren't happy when they are uncomfortable, or non-consenting, so my compliments are only as flirty as you want them to be. If interpreting them as flirty makes you happy, then that's how I mean them, and if you just want to interpret them as compliments, then cool, that's how I mean it. So far, you seem like a cool chick, so I'm happy to make you blush. n.n

I like the way you explained your name Finn Quill! You didn't just picked a name, but though about it very deeply...(deeply is an english word right..?) :P And I see something of myself in your post above this one. I do like to make people happy or laugh too. And it also makes me happy. It's also good for my self-confidence of course.. So, nice to have you here too! There can't be to much people who are willing to help making this forum the best one there is. Not only because of the excellent help you get here, but also because of the nice people.

Finn Quill & BakieIt's a great thing if someone likes to make others feel good, I do too, it gives this warm feeling in your heart when you know you've made someone smile, if only for a second. There's unfortantly alot of negativity out there, specially on internet as people can be mean and rude without seeing the person they are hurting. So, Im happy you both enjoy making others feel happy, It makes me happy to get the chance to talk to you both and get to know you better. Honestly, I'd never spend a second on this forum if it werent for all the nice people I've come across on here.

J MzunguThat "Honestly, I'd never spend a second on this forum if it werent for all the nice people I've come across on here. " counts for me too. On ModtheSims you only talk with people for help and I barely smiled reading posts on that website (except in the downloads comment sections). But here it feels more friendly, you get more the feeling that people ARE really interested in you and not only in what you do for The Sims 4 and that's a good thing! You sort of "get to know" people. Some will always help you with your problems, some will keep the conversation going and others are just totally nuts that makes these people very funny! (I'm not going to give any names) :P

I feel the same way too, I also think it's been hard "making friends" with people over at MTS, so I gave up on that a loooong time ago, lol. And yeah, people do seem interested in you as a person, rather then "I have a problem - fix it for me!" I've tried helping a few people on MTS and I dont think I've ever even gotten a thank you of anyone of them, but I know not all people on MTS are mean, I just always have the badest luck and get the stupid people, lol. I always get the worse doctors, classmates, teachers, co-workers and so on, I guess I must have some curse on me, lol. I dont think you need to name any names, I totally got you!

This is a good thread, I must admit I've also wondered about many names I have seen. I chose Believe&Become for two reasons: 1. I don't like names as it leads to classifying people, and classifying people leads to judging. A name can lead to people thinking about you as only binary male/female; only from one country; correlate you to other people they know with that name... One of the most obvious is "where you are from", and in my case it's such a long complicated story. The fastest explanation is that an Australian of German origin and a Filipino American met and married in West Africa, where both were working for United Nations. They had three kids who grew up there, what does that make me? Born African - with an Australian passport, European, Asian and Native American ancestry, like are people even going to believe me? (I can back all of this up btw lol) I had a lot of identity crisis when I was younger, and being intercultural can make it difficult, as you are never completely at home anywhere. But since now I am quite ok with my checkered ethnic and legal baggage, I'm not so concerned with how people perceive me. In a sense, believe what you will about me - I don't have to prove anything, but if you befriend me, I'll be happy to. If not, peace be with you. I am whatever you Believe and will Become that for you. 2. I study in the Medical field - but I'm extremely skeptical of modern medicinal practices. I believe much of Western Medicine is about symptom management and business deals. I also believe (well I actually know this, studied it in Epidemiology) that much of modern sicknesses in the 1st world are caused by lifestyle choices and socio-psychological damage that can be prevented (the main killers as such are heart problems and cancer). In part because I am both East/West ethnically, I advocate a change in medical practices that reflect the direct relationship between mind, soul and body. As you believe, you will become, in both sickness and health. I have not yet seen a physical disease that did not have an energetic counterpart originating within the patient's mind and heart and soul. Many people know this intuitively, but it hasn't changed yet because Medicine and Pharmacology is a giant money maker, and soul therapy, although very hard, is free. Lol. Personally, I'm looking forward to the ancient Chinese doctor deal - you pay me while you're healthy, if you're sick, I'm not doing my job well.Btw, my guess at orangemittens forum name is that she chose something that was both funny/happy and neutral/non controversial. If you have an important role in a community and need to remain impartial, you can't go running around with names like hijabs-are-the-worst or i-worship-satan or even very-grumpy-person (probably ok for members though).

That's an interesting explanation for your name believe&become. Both reasons! And I like your way of thinking: " you pay me while you're healthy, if you're sick, I'm not doing my job well." Although some illness can't be cured, but you can feel better after some help of a doctor. I think your thoughts about Om's name will be quite close to what she thought when creating a forum name.

Thank you Bakie! I forgot to explain TheAfricanSim name. I played vanilla Sims 4 for a long time and only started "needing" cc when one of my Polynesian Sims fell in love with a black townie Sim (and she didn't have "culture-appropriate" hairstyles or clothes) - and then when I started investigating the Simblr community, I wanted to create one with a bit of character - not just another Scandinavian interior simblr (although I love those) or a berrySimblr or whatever - they are all fun and beautiful, but they also say " write about what you know", and TheAfricanSim was my way of merging what I missed in real life with a certain gap in the Sim community (there are a lot of black Simblrs, but not many African ones). It was my start, and my main tumblr, but again, I wanted a forum name that was vaguer. Being African born raised is definitely part of what I am, but it's not all who I am and it can be misleading. It's cool though that your forum name is simple and easy to remember, and I do like the sound of it. It must be nice to have one main nickname, I've had so many (e.g. from country to country, whether they could pronounce it or not, order of hierarchy in the family), it also started me disassociating me from them (though I don't mind any of them in particular).

Bakie And about doctors... I always remember what I got told on the 1st day of Medical School: all doctors are ultimately failures. Eventually, all our patients die, with or without our help. We're not glorious life-savers, but if we can make life quality a little better, if not longer, then that's how we serve. A bit drastic, but I don't like doctor worship.

Guys the reason behind OM's name was explained on a different thread! HERE. And I quote her: "I was looking for something to use for Halloween and, for some reason, this funny person with a blue glove turned up in a search for orange mittens. I couldn't resist. I'm always sort of curious about why people choose the avs they have...why they change them or why they stick with the same one. "

@stevenssimsstuff reminds me that there was once this game website where you had to guess whether these cute names were names for the My Little Pony toys or for actresses like the above. Needless to say, I was very disappointed not to have a high score - I still have my ponies from the 80s. (rofl) I'm pretty sure there were no Little Ponies called Orange Mittens, but I would definitely custom make her from franken ponies (more weirdo stuff). Really tempted now lol.
