Selfmade photos and videos of animals living in your countryThis topic is for all people who love nature/animals and like to make photos or videos from it. If you want to share some of the animals living in your country, please add the name of your country and the name of the animal. Remember that it has to be a SELFMADE photo or video. So for example:If you don't know the exact species name, then for this example you could just say: DeerAlso if you don't know the English name, just place the name that it's called in your country. If somebody doesn't know the right name, I will try to find it on the internet if I doesn't know it myself. Of course other people may help too! You can add photos by uploading them to websites as photobucket.com or shutterfly.com For video you can use Youtube or Vimeo for example. I'm very curious what kind of animals can be found all over the world, so don't hesitate and upload your photos and/or videos!

wow! those are amazing photos! that top photo, with the huge antlers, it looks bigger than our deer maybe it's even an elk (?) So gorgeous to see that animal in nature. The only thing we have where I live (in a city) is the raccoon! lol! I have seen moose (you'll have to google it) when we went camping but that was many years ago. It looks very beautiful where you live.

In fact, there's no place at all in The Netherlands that's isn't made by human. We only have planted woodland. But still, that also can be beautifull after lots of years. The only place in Europe where elks live is Norway I thought. Those are the biggest deer in Europe and after that it's the red deer. I would love to see a moose sometime! They are much bigger than the red deer here And the only racoon I see from up close is the one a friend of mine has as a pet. He got a lot more of those strange not common pet animals

My son went to Amsterdamn one time a long time ago. That's a huge city in the netherlands isn't it? He loved it a lot Thats cool that the red deer live in captivity. Is there hunting? I hope not. And that's amazing that your friend has a raccoon as a pet. I know they're very very cute but I heard they can be vicious. Our neighbour has a small shed in their back yard and the roof is broken and a family of raccoons live in there. Sometimes they peak out at me when I'm in my backyard with our cat. They have the most adorable face!

I live all the way in the South but all tourist doesn't go any further then Amsterdam :P And that's a shame as there are much more beautiful and interesting places here. No there's no hunting on red deer, they're protected. A the place where I made these photos they're aiming at setting them free eventually but many people are against that because of the danger that comes with it in traffic. Yeah that racoon is very funny. I made some videos of it when it was only 2 weeks old, but haven't uploaded it yet to youtube. My friend works in a zoo and sometimes he get's baby animals to take care of because otherwise they would die probably. He also got a skunk and 2 kinds of mongoose at home. He also got different kind of hedgehogs So a mini zoo at home :P Maybe you can take some pictures of the racoons for in this topic? the red deer looks amazing! big! :D Yes, it's the biggest "wild" mammal in The Netherlands. Maybe I'm going to search for them again this weekend.

I'll try to find some pictures that I took earlier this summer of the racoon family. Only cell phone pics unfortunately. I just love that red deer, It's beautiful. Also I would be happy that no tourists travel up to where you live. Tourists can quickly ruin your beautiful peaceful woodland and lakes. :-/

I'm very curious about your Racoon family pics!

I can try and get a pic of some pigeons or squirrels. Yep, that's all there is for me currently. Only my camera phone is poo. The pictures look good... Until viewed on a large screen. ;P
I used to live further north, where we had raccoons, groundhogs, geese, deer and such. Man, I don't miss the geese, crossing the streets during rush hour, like they own the place, and in absolutely no hurry. They could freeze the traffic somehow and I've never seen a dead goose anywhere on the street, but plenty of raccoons and skunks get hit by cars.

Bakie That's so nice that you have the animal 'sanctuary' where there is no hunting and no possibility of the large animals to get hit by cars. It always breaks my heart when I see dead animals on the side of the road :( paika Yes, we have tons of squirels where I live. And I have never been stopped in traffic by geese lol! But I have seen a dead goose on the side of the road, and I did cry when I saw it. Oh, one time driving to work I saw a fox running along the side of the road. It was really beautiful. Here is the picture that I took earlier this summer of the raccoon family. I have a couple of pictures but this is the most clear I wanted to put another one in too, while I'm here You can see at least three in this one but all together there were about 6 of them all climbing up and down that tree. That's in our neighbour's backyard. Later I'll try to find the pictures I have from the summer that the ducks came and lived in our swimming pool lol!

All photos are welcome Paika, even from normal pigeons and squirrels. Probably those animals look a bit different where you live then here for example. I guess "your" squirrels are black or with white stripes or something? And here they are red-ish. There're a lot of geese here in Holland too by the way especially now that winter is coming. Each year they're a big problem for the airfield 'Schiphol'. Here is the picture that I took earlier this summer of the raccoon family. I have a couple of pictures but this is the most clear I wanted to put another one in too, while I'm here They look awesome! Wish we had raccoons here, I think they're beautiful! Tonight I'm going to the same spot I went last week to see if I can make some more photos and videos of the red deer. I hope the Black stork will still be there, only now a bit more close as it was to far away last time. Those are very rare to be seen in The Netherlands by the way, so it was quite special the other day.

Wow, yes, a stork! I've never seen a stork before let alone a black one. I can see it in your photo, it's probably a very shy animal. Even when I do go out in nature with my husband we rarely see any wild life. Maybe it's because we always have a dog with us lol! I will try to find my pics of the ducks that lived in our pool for awhile but other than that I can't think of any other wild life photos that I might have.
Have fun on your nature walk tonight and I look forward to seeing more photos. It sounds beautiful in the Netherlands btw.

Bakie i applaud you for getting that close to the animals, are they shy? could you hand feed them? I will have to show my Oma these pictures she will just love it! Where abouts in the Netherlands do you live? If you don't want to say that is understandable, I am just curious for obviously reasons to do with my Oma. simtress I cannot wait to see these duck pictures! hahah hilarious! I tried to take another picture of FRED (our friendly porcupine) but it was to quick and it was dark, so they picture didn't turn out. BUT my boyfriend did get this picture a few weeks ago :p (Fred eats all the fallen apples off our apple trees) We were worried about our dogs getting into him and we had to shoot a couple because they were a danger to our dogs it was horrible over 100 quils were in our dogs face and mouth. But FRED is special he minds his own business and eats his apples and our dogs have learned to stay The firetruck** away from FRED haha.
