Weird shadows in game of CC

Hello, I have an issue. I was trying to make a cc dress with blender and s4s, and I've run into an issue. in s4s the dress looks fine but when I open up the game, the dress has shadows of the previous mesh that the skirt was made of (basically the skirt half of the dress was taken from a dress). I am not sure how to get rid of the shadows. I've tried to open up a different base but then the imported mesh doesn't end up working. I'm not sure if any of that made sense but hopefully someone understands
