Hi BeastFirst of all, welcome to Studio Forums! This tutorial only works for CAS items at the moment. I do have some work in progress where objects have glowing parts too, but it isn't all finished yet and when it will be finished, Sims 4 Studio is probably going to make it easier to use them like also happened with this CAS emission files. The tutorial shown here is still the old way. I've made a video tutorial about it which is also still using the old way, but I described in my video description and in a pinned comment what to do different to make the work flow a bit easier and faster. You can take a look at it right here: How to add dynamic light to clothingBe sure to check the videos description.

Hello, does anyone of you maybe know how I stop the vampire eyes from glowing entirely? Especially the cat eye, the glow or whatever overlay it is makes it look really bad if the cat eye isn't exactly the way the original is...

No idea i still didnt get the glow As all images are deleted because of Photobucket not being that good of a image share website as it used to be, I can imagine that following this tutorial might be hard. So maybe it's more easy to take a look at my Video Tutorial instead, though I have to say it's a bit outdated too. But if you follow the tips in the video description, you might succeed anyway! You can find it here: The Sims 4 Tutorial: Adding Dynamic Light

Hi, I have a question. I'm using the Sims 4 studio on my Mac and I immediately get into a problem at step 2. I can only see CAS part in the warehouse. Nothing else. Is there a tutorial somewhere for Mac? I'm creating ironman's suit and I want his eyes and hands to glow. But for now I was just trying it with an in-game t-shirt, but all it had was a caspart in the warehouse. With Sims 4 studio candy apple I can aslo only upload and export PNG files.

kikisimlive The Emission Map, along with all other CAS textures should be visible on the main Studio tab under the Textures section. They won't show up in the Warehouse section unless you have actually imported new textures to replace the originals. I admit that I am a PC user though and so this might not have been implimented in the Mac version yet, I don't know. LadyFancyFeast The Emission does work with bracelets as well. Some official ones that came with GtW have the glow effect on them.

This is too awesome. I did the most minimal, sloppiest job I could (a black png with the word 'test' scribbled in red), not expecting much and it worked right off he bat! Now just need to switch to working with dds for the alpha; only REAL issue I had was placement. I thought I wrote the word out on the chest but it showed up on the legs instead, lol. Still, it's a start! And incredibly easy so far.
Edit: Cropped the image to be square instead of rectangular and its in the right place now. Probably the easiest map there is to make for this game.

It has been implemented for MAC as well :D

Does anyone have any idea what image dimensions are required when working with CAS items for pets? I've used the default texture dimensions of 2048 X 1024 in horizontal rotation but the glow doesn't seem to be working.

I've tried that. Didn't work. Might it be because I am working on the nude dog body and not an actual seperate mesh? Perhaps I should start a seperate thread for this.

Can anyone help me? I tried recolouring the emission on the alien bodysuits we got in get together and it still flowed green in my game?

Hi I'm trying to follow this tutorial, but the blank emission map links are broken. Can anyone point out where I can get these resources?

what's a good program to use to work on RGB layers and the alpha layer separately? i've been able to get flashing emission maps to work just fine with the tutorial, but exporting an image with a black alpha layer in GIMP to get a permanent light has only yielded transparent images without any of the RGB data. would this also be because i exported them as png instead of dds?
