If you are receiving an error message when trying to run Studio, it could be a problem with your antivirus software. Below are links showing how to configure your antivirus software to allow Studio to run on your computer.

Why this error shows up (if this is TLDR, just skip to the tutorial links below)
Sims 4 Studio uses a folder in your user's Documents folder to store files that make it run faster and allow troubleshooting (a database file to speed searches, log files to help diagnose errors, intermediate files that speed tuning extraction, and folders to hold batch fix backups, color palettes, and mods).

Sometimes antivirus programs prevent Studio from creating or modifying this file. When an antivirus program blocks access, Studio will produce an error message. When this happens, Studio is basically unable to do anything useful at all. To prevent your antivirus software from blocking Studio, you will need to configure the application to allow Studio to modify files. Below are instructions showing how to configure some common antivirus software apps.

AVG Antivirus

The first time that you use Sims 4 Studio with AVG installed, you should get a popup asking you to allow or block it when it tries to write to its log file. If you clicked "Allow App", you won't need to do anything else except for close Studio and open it again. If you clicked "Block App", you will need to manually unblock it and allow it through AVG's settings.

How to unblock and allow Sims 4 Studio in AVG:

1. Start AVG and click the menu button.

2. Click the Settings option from the menu.

3. Click Blocked and allowed apps from the general settings.

4. If you see S4Studio listed in the "Blocked Apps", you will need to unblock it. Click the button with the 3 dots next to S4Studio, and click "Remove" from the menu that pops up.

5. Now that Studio is unblocked, AVG won't silently prevent Studio from using its files. To allow studio to run without popup warnings, you will need to allow it. Click the Allow App button.

6. AVG will show you a list of apps that it found on your computer. Scroll down until you see S4Studio and click on it.

7. On the next screen, click "Add".

8. You should no longer see S4Studio in the blocked app list and you should see a line with S4Studio in the allowed app list.
