Sorry for the delay, my game got stuck in an endless update loop but after I got it working again, I tried out the Kayo Kitchen counters (all sections), the stove hood, and the stove which all worked fine for me. I didn't check other swatches if there were any, but the counters and the stove were a nice tan wood on the bottom and off-white on top, with black burners, and the hood/shelf combo was silver, like they are in the screenshots. I didn't try placing any clutter on the hood shelf. I also didn't test the decorative items like the fridge case, the ordinary shelf, the chalkboard, or the decorative ladder and I didn't use the shadow removal mod (edit: just to clarify, I left it out of my Mods folder because I didn't have the time to check with and without it being there.)
Is every item in the Kayo Kitchen set giving you this see-through problem or just a few? Is it only the Kayo items having this problem or are, for example, other CC counters doing this? Did it occur after the Dec 14th patch or the Jan 21rst patch?
Do you use the shadow removal mod included in the Kayo Kitchen Set? If you suspect it's that (which was my initial guess), try this shadow removal mod by Peacemaker to see if that helps at all. If neither seems to have any effect or you have reason to believe it isn't that, I would still suspect it's an out of date mod of some sort. You might want to check if all of your mods, especially game play mods, are updated or compatible with the most recent patch.
Edit: Sorry if I forgot something or it was confusing. I was trying to post this swiftly before heading to bed last night.
Second edit: If you do update anything or try the other mod (please at least temporarily remove the Kayo mod since it will most likely conflict) please delete the LocalThumbCache.package from your Sims 4 folder. Ha ha, I know I suggest this a lot but it keeps a cache of more than just the in-game thumbnails so it can solve a small variety of problems involving old save data. It will never hurt you to delete that specific file, so I honestly recommend deleting it after every game session.
