Hi!!!! I just wanted to know if you guys intend to release a batch fix for the custom skins/skintones from before the new patch that adds new skin options... I searched around but couldn't find anything related to this issue. I have several skins downloaded and I love Berries storytelling and I cannot play those saves with broken skins. I believe many people are dealing with such stuff since the Berries challenges and storytelling are very popular. I know there was for IL pack a tool in modthesims that fixed skins ( modthesims.info/d/643164/ts4-default-replacement-fixer-v3-0-10-12-2020-fixes-default-eyes-eyebrows-makeup-and-skins-broken-by-patches.html ) , I don't know if you guys believe there will be another tool for this or is gonna be a batch fix... Thank you for all the help!

Before there can be a BATCH fix (which automates fixing things, so you don't have to figure out what needs fixing, know how to fix it, or do it all by hand on what could be a lot of items), there has to BE A FIX, period.
This patch has been out for just over 24 hours. (It was less than 24 hours when you posted.) It's not even a matter of being patient and treating the S4S devs like people with lives who might need a few days to write the code to update S4S, it's that no one has even had enough time to figure out how the new stuff works at ALL yet. Unless you are capable of contributing to figuring out how to fix them, just wait. It is so early right now that I would be more surprised if there were already a fix this fast than I would be if we had to wait a week.

I think what most people will probably be looking for is confirmation that some type of "batch" fix is in the works or not. Should they look elsewhere, or wait? Etc. I don't think anyone expects a fix right after an update, although that has happened because of knowing sort of in advance what the update was going to be.
As Cidira mentioned, there might not be a fix. IF that seems to be the case, knowing earlier rather than later would be most helpful. Knowing we can't get something fixed isn't exactly good news, but it enables people to move on and do what they must to fix their folders.

Knowing we can't get something fixed isn't exactly good news, but it enables people to move on and do what they must to fix their folders. Thats exactly what I meant. Its not the first time people of TS community assume stuff we don't actually say, and act sort of rude to "teach you a lesson" and "give a speech" about our actions. If anyone read what I said, EXACTLY the way I said, the only thing I was wondering was if there is any plans for a batch fix or tool in view/work. That was ALL I was asking. For instance, the windows and doors issue, people from all over the place came to complain about the issue with cc and report stuff and asking for a batch fix and if it was in work. Since I didn't notice/find ANYWHERE people talking about custom skin/skintones issue and any word of the team about it neither, I thought I could ask myself. I didn't know it would offend anyone. Hope S4S staff/dev team knows how much we all appreciate their work and talent they share with us and that we - most part of us - never demand anything from them, since they help all community freely. So again, it's really annoying and upseting people putting words in our mouth and intentions in our thoughts that weren't there. It was just a genuine question if the team or any creator knows about anything. This is a great way to shutting peoples mouth and making people feel bad for just ask simple stuff. Really. That wasn't needed. Rudeness is all over the world, we don't need it in a such nice community where people should welcome each other. Lord. Thank you djthefunkchris for understanding my point.

I understood just fine. It's clear neither of you understood my point, which is that it's too soon for anyone to be able to answer your questions.
As I said, it's not even that it's too soon for them to have written the fix, it's that no one has even given them the information they would need to have before they could even start thinking about writing the fix. That doesn't mean I thought you expected there to already be a fix, it means I thought you posted without thinking about the order in which things have to happen.
If no one knows any way to do something, how could anyone make a decision about whether they are going to write software to automate this totally unknown process? There is no way to even tell if it's going to be something that can be made into a batchfix.
Discovering how to fix the CC at all is step one. Thinking about the best ways to automate the process is step two. Actually writing the code is step three. We are on step zero -- we don't even know how to fix it yet. Your question can be answered sometime during or after step two -- that's the part where the S4S devs will decide if it's a good fit for a batchfix, CmarNYC will look at including it in the Skininator or CAS Tools, etc.

So your answer would be "We don't know yet". Simple, and all he was asking. Thank you for all that you do. Good to hear about CmarNYC, was worried about him a while back.

Please stop updating and breaking. Fingers crossed for a batch fix. I'm betting you have more skin details/overlays than actual skin tones based on my own CC numbers (I even downloaded twice as many skin tones as I had before the update... I kind of hope they change how genetic eyes are accessed! It'd be a pain to update but I'd have a lot more non-default eyes in my game if they gave me more room to view the swatches!) If it specifies male, female, or an age group in the name, that's incredibly high odds of it being an overlay and not an actual tone. No matter what, the program will know the difference.
So, if you really don't want to do them all manually, you should be able to merge every single skin tone file that you have together in Sims4Studio first. Then run that single file in CMar's skin conversion program (make sure that you've got version 2.3 btw.) It'll take a lot longer and say not responding but it'll run through everything on it's own and save properly. If you've merged a file that doesn't have a skin tone then it'll tell you how many files it examined and ignored because they weren't actually skin tones (Caveat: I don't know if that'll throw it off but I don't think it will since it seems to tell you at the end?) If you're feeling especially lazy, you can probably merge everything without checking what it is and let the Converter sort them out. Either way, I STRONGLY recommend creating a backup of all of your files before doing anything, especially merging them. That way, if you ever need to deal with the original files again (like needing to remove something and creating a new merged file) you have the individual files to refer to. You should also save the new file the converter makes into a completely new location, not even the same folder, with a new name (or just adding updated or something to the file name) so you know what it is.
Also, a lot of simmers who are still active should've updated their CC by now. I know Lamatisse already updated the Bare skintones, for example (which I absolutely recommend downloading if you didn't have them already!) I'm also open to skin tone recommendations; let me know some of your favorites. :3

Thanks dovecq, what you say seems pretty straight forward but it will take a while as I dooooo download way too much. Bit of an addiction lol. What a way to spend xmas!!! Haha. oh, I know exactly what you mean! I was on a huge CC DL binge for several days (it took that long to DL everything, especially for TSR... at least SFS was mostly playing nice) and I'm paying for it now because I have a massive pile of CC to process (checking them out in S4S to ensure that I want to keep them, make note of what to cull after feeling the slightest bit of ambivalence because I have so, so much, a lot of it similar, so I'll never miss it, then organizing them in both my original Mods folder and my backup folder, and eventually merging things down significantly for game streamlining.) I've been chipping away at it ever since but it's a slow, tedious process because I went wild... I keep thinking I could just play without my CC for a bit, build some nice houses which is awkward when I've got the overrides in (so I remove CC to upload them), but I'm also kind of eager to use some of it. Like, I wanna make a cute Sea Lion mermaid; I found some great furry, mermaid, and other fantasy CC for that purpose... (plus a family of cats and a family or rabbits and maybe finally play a vampire or an alien for once.) And I also got a million other accessories, clothes, hair, skin details, and eyes to go through... I think I still have some mods to double-check but right now managing all the new CC is such a massive project, I just wanna get it done and out of the way. I hate having this disorganized mess and I realized I needed to re-organize some things after merging them previously too so that's just more to merge down. Ugh, it's a huge project I've given myself and I have other things to do as well. Compared to that, processing my skin tones, including the new ones, was super quick and easy, even though I had to do it twice for some of them. lol and I actually should shove them into the game without the other stuff to make sure it worked I guess so there's also that. Regardless, merry xmas to all! (And even if I fail to finish this in time I'm gonna play Sims on crissssmus come hell or high water. I think I've earned it.) XD
