Trouble making 2 sets of recolors from the same painting

I made two different sets of recolors for a base game painting but only one of the files shows up in my game.  Is there some trick to cloning the same object twice that isn't covered in the tutorials? The EVbaselongframe.package shows up in my game and works perfectly but the PJbaselongframe.package does not show up even if I search for it.  I made both of these the exact same way so I am at a loss to why they don't both work.  Do I need to change something in the file so that the game will recognize these as different items?  I am also trying to make t-shirts.  Is this same problem going to happen if I clone the same part to try and make different sets of t-shirts?  Please help a noob creator out.  I just want to cover my Sims walls with Pearl Jam posters.
