Hello! I'm looking to make what I believe to be a simple Mod, which is changing the text on the Sims 4 loading screens to something a little more fun for users... but admittedly I'm new to all this. I've been looking at sigma1202's lovely guide right here but it only helps me so far in changing the actual appearance of the screen. I'm just looking to change the text, not the imagery. Do I follow this guide up to the JPEXS decompiler program then click into the texts folder in order to modify this? Or do I need to follow an alternative route? Thanks for any help or guidance here! It would be nice to give something fun back to the community after all this time being a simming lurker. /lurk

I don't believe you can change the actual text, only possibly color, but if you can then it might be the same process. Only way to know is to try as there are no mods of this kind. There is discussion in the MCCC/Deaderpool Discord in the Creators Board about loading screens and doing a quick search I'm seeing talk about font color change but not sure if that's what you meant (or if anyone succeeded, one convo leads me to suspect no).

Thanks for getting back to me, it's not the font colour I'm looking to change but the actual loading text itself. I wanted to throw in some amusing comments for Simmers just to help with the loading transition, but I can understand if Maxis decided to make this unmod-able. I'll see about looking through the comments on the Creators Board though as you mentioned, see if I can work something out. Thanks.

Look for the UI.UI tuning file, scroll a little and you'll see all the loading screen strings. But I'm not sure if you can actually add your own though since there's a whole other system running to check if you're online and which packs you own that I don't know where to find. (That's probably why you only get the base game loading strings if you're offline even if you own all the packs.) I even tried deleting everything there but the game still showed me the loading screen strings. Best to probably just replace the existing ones.

Somewhat related, but does anyone know how to add custom loading screen pictures? I can find mods that add their OWN screens that come with it, but I want to be able to have the game load a bunch of random backgrounds of my own choosing. I tried to follow this link:
sims4studio.com/thread/19499/make-custom-loading-screenBut, I can only get to the step where I "paste this "432D1D2ADDFFC6D8" in the "instance" form, then click on "all", select the added entry".....except I don't get an "added entry". There isn't any showing up. I posted on that thread some time ago, but never got an answer.

It needs to stop at The Sims 4, do not go into Game or Bin. You also can't have it load random backgrounds, at least unless you know how to edit AS files to maybe enable it (if that's even possible in the first place).
