I have a sweater from the CAS library and trying to modify it so that the sleeves have a hole in the inner arm that the arm can come out of and the sleeve itself always hangs down. Like these pictures:
The arm should be able to move around and the sleeve still hangs down. How would I do this? I don't see anything in CAS that does this. I suppose it would be like making a cape of sorts, just a fabric this hangs down, no matter what the sim does with its arms.

Hi. Do you already have the experience of manually modifying weights and meshes? If not, I suggest to either learn from something simple or not try at all. It would take a lot of manual tweaking to accomplish it.

Thanks mauvemorn, I don't mind if it's difficult, but you are saying it's possible with weights? Is that a term in Blender that I can look up? I am happy to do research on it, I just need to know how to find the right concepts in Blender. I have modified meshes (although a beginner) by hand, so would like to learn about this weights idea. Thanks.

You can watch these two but they will give you only half the information you need
Basically you need to delete hands from your jacket, change the position of the mesh using rig, apply, edit the weights for sleeves only, duplicate top from the rig, remove everything but arms from it, then cut and reshape the sleeves to look the way you want them.
