I wanted to turn the existing tanktop in the game (labelled cfTop_Underwear...00093A4 SortOrder:95), into a crop top like a bra.
My work progress went as following:
• With Sims 4 Studio, I created a new project with the CAS option, selected all colour options and saved the .package file and closed the project.
• Then I opened TSR Workshop and created a new project; Clothing > Sims 4 Clothing > Human > Child > Female > Top > cfTop_Nude. (Using default settings)
• Then I exported the four LOD meshes in .wso (Workshop object), and closed the project without saving.
• Then I started a new project in TSR Workshop; New Import, selected the .package file from Sims 4 Studio. (Using default settings)
• Then I imported the four LOD meshes, and exported the file as a .package file.
• Back in Sims 4 Studio, I reopen the project that now has the new meshes.
• I export all the textures, modify them to the new shape, and import them and everything looks fine so far in the 3D window (although that could be due to the clothes drawn on the model instead of letting the skin show through).
• I put the .package file in the mods folder for Sims 4, launch the game and the item shows up as it should, but has some graphical errors.
Issues:
- There is black artefact both on the side of the head, and around the abdomen.
Everything else works as it should.
The reason I used TSR Workshop to replace the meshes, is because Sims 4 Studio currently does not accurately export or import the meshes. It's obvious for the lowest LOD levels where the seam on the back no longer appears smooth after importing. So I will use TSR Workshop for exporting and importing meshes, and also to export swatch thumbnails which S4S does not load at all.
