There is a small issue with the Mermaid Simmer's mermaid tails, but only when used on male Sims. I've tried the Mako Mermaids Zac merman tail and the dolphin mermaid tail. The issue is that with male Sims, there is some corruption / discoloration where the tail meets the upper body. I've seen this issue before on NintendoLover13's tails on ModTheSims. I've contacted him about it and he managed to fix it. I don't know how exactly (I'm not a modder myself), but he said that he believed it to be an issue with the bone weights and assignments. Apparently, Cmar made an update to Sims 4 CAS Tools which includes auto assignments for mermaid tails.
I hope this helps you to fix the issue, because I really like the tails. If not, I can ask NintendoLover13 exactly how he fixed it.
