so I figured out how to merge the mesh and thought I was done but when added into the game I've clearly messed up somewhere. It looks fine in blender and s4s, does this have something to do with the animation? Any idea how to fix this abomination? drive.google.com/open?id=1Kcj8Fwd9nKpfmbaaMEkgfwgj-zfu3Ogo

Did you do a weight transfer and correctly map your new parts on the uv_1?

I'm trying to follow the UV_1 guide but once I complete the data transfer, I'm kinda miffed at what I'm supposed to do next considering the tut tells you to do it over Andrews UV_1 templates which don't exactly match up with the tail, so what do I do?

You could clone and extract one of EA's original mermaid tails and see what their uv_1 looks like to compare.
