Hello! This is my second attempt at importing TS3 models into TS4, and all of the items I import look fine on laptop mode, but when it's turned off the lighting gets very broken. It seems like the light doesn't know which part of the object to affect, and I'm guessing this is because of a broken specular or normal map? I've tried to look this up before, and even put a fully blank specular and normal map over the objects to fix the light issue, but it doesn't worl. On this latest attempt at importing the objects, the shiny problem no longer happens... instead, the lighting is just all wonky. Example: I'm using TSRW and the latest version of Sims 4 Studio. I followed a tutorial in the past on how to import objects from TS3 to TS4 successfully, and everything works except for this lighting issue. I'm not too experienced with multipliers/normal maps, so if anyone could give me a general explanation as to why this happens and how I can fix it, then I would be very appreciative!!

Hi halxton. I have had your post bookmarked to see if anyone has a good answer as to why this happens with some meshes, so I am bumping this for us... Your meshes all are affected in a 'similar' fashion - where you have entire flat surfaces that are exhibiting the behaviour. Mine are of an entirely different nature, but all show similar un-wanted shadow behaviour but generally only in bright daylight outdoors, and only some swatches of an object, but not all, and then only seemingly at certain angles... Urf. I have checked vertex color, used blank bump/specs, all to no avail myself. [bump]

If you could please share your packages and possibly your blend files then that would greatly help in anyone being able to assist you. We don't just want to guess from a single picture.

I've uploaded the entire CC project to OneDrive. Inside you'll find folders for each object as well as the package and blender files, exported images for the textures, etc. Here's the link: www.dropbox.com/s/uob84c9yelm9pjs/TS4%20Country%20Set%20%28Broken%29.rar?dl=0

Your Normal maps are incorrect. It looks like you are just using the original TS3 Mutiplier texture which performed a different function in TS3 and is not a texture type that is used in TS4. You can fix this problem by either importing blank Normal maps which you can get from here>
or by following this tutorial to create your own> (The tutorial uses a CAS item as an example but it works just the same for objects)
I can also see that your diining chair at least is pointing to the wrong indoor floor shadow texture. I'm not sure how you've done that but it should be using the "blob sheet" and instead it is using a single shadow texture instead. You may be better starting again with a new clone to make sure it is using the correct floor shadow.
