I have some custom skin tones from CC creatores that are gone, so can I somehow update those skintones so they work with the tanlines?

I'm not certain, but I assume similar tones will have to share the same slot range (secondary display index) as the vanilla skintones. I don't know if anyone's worked it out (I haven't tried yet).
Let's say there are 20 vanilla skintones that occupy slots 5, 10, 15, 20 etc. I am guessing that for the custom tones to work they would need to slot in between those ranges, so like tones sit with like.
It's possible that the creators of those cc skintones used index numbers for them that were higher than the highest vanilla index number, so all their cc tones sat together rather than being mingled in. Or, if they didn't, as new tones have been introduced into the base game the display index numbers get a bit mixed up anyway.
It would be good if someone who understood how the inherited genetics works with skintones could take a look, because I expect if you understand how to get them to work with genetics you'll be able to get them to work with tans.
