Hi,
not sure if I should make this post here as it doesn't seem as if it's the package problem, but the Sims 4 Studio. If this doesn't belong here, tell me and I'll move it.
Long story short, specular maps have stopped appearing in my S4S (the only thing that can be seen is the mask, nothing else).
Detailed Explanation
I'm using 3.1.2.4 (Wishes) version of S4S.
Everything worked well, until my computer broke around february-march, and everything was deleted. Around a month ago I reinstalled everything (S4S, Blender, Photoshop, and The Sims 4, this time with the Get Famous and Strangerville expansions that I didn't have before). Since then I can't get specular to work anymore.
(Note that before installing both expansions everything worked perfectly. But I don't think it's that, as I've followed the steps to repair the game and just reinstalled S4S, and it apparently has support for Strangerville)
(It's been at least 5 months since I last did anything with S4S, so there's also the possibility that I don't remember how Specular works)
First Approach
I do have a specular map ready (in .dds). I click Import, choose it, and when I open it, the mask can be seen (the black shadow in the right) but the specular can't (red arrow).
I save the package, move it to the mods folder, and overwrite the older one. In S4S, I open My CC, and save the package. Afterwards I open the game.
In CAS, when choosing the CC, everything shines like mad, from neck to ankles.
Second Approach
Okay, maybe I don't remember how Specular Maps work after all. Then I'll make it blank, apparently this has to cease all shininess, doesn't it?
But it still shines
Third Approach
Then, I'll choose some random EA dress and, without touching anything, I'll open it, and see what happens.
Oh, it looks good!
Then I'll export this specular map and I'll import it to my package...
O.o
--------------------------
Halp, I don't know what's wrong.
This package
The Specular Map I'm trying to use, in .dds
( The package with the untouched yellow EA dress )
( The Specular Map from the yellow EA dress )
