It might be related to a Blender issue in laptop graphics. I don't think this has to do with Studio. What graphic card does the laptop have? Do you encounter similar behaviour if you open a new .blend file without Studio as linker?

i believe she has two graphic cards on her lap top i had her run DirectX Diagnostic Tool and in display it showed two 2 displays however both displays seem to be the same intel HD graphics 530 when she opens blender on its own it does still appear to be excessively bright  |

I have the same problem on my pc (hdmi)  it's a problem with the last Nvidia's drivers (since v 4xx for me) . |

That's what I was suspecting, if this is a graphic card issue there's not much we can do on this end. I'd recommend to go to the website of the card's manufactuer where they could have a better solution and know how to help you/her. This probably affects other 3d applications as well. Sorry we can't be of more help. :(

I've had this issue but I find it strange. My copy of blender was fine until I opened it on one occassion and it was all washed out suddenly. I tried reinstalling blender a few times and it made no difference so I installed a different version number instead and that works fine. I currently have 27.6a
I am also using it on a laptop with Nvidia graphics.

I've encountered some issues with Blender versions before 2.76 too. I forgot to mention it. Whenever I try to use 2.70 all my Aero effects of Windows get borked and wrong. I don't experience a problem with rigs or meshes going brighter though. I'm also using Nvidea Graphics with the last drivers. My bet is that this new drivers are not so kind of the older versions of blender. If you can use 2.76 as menaceman said above since it's the last one that Studio supports.
Also, I'd recommend checking out the new Blender 2.8 too. It's growing fast and they changed a lot of the UI to make it more user friendly. You can always work like this and then import to older versions to configure the Studio link.

Hi Sammoyke, yes Studio requires specific versions of Blender to work. 2.70 and 2.76 are available options. If you want to download a newer version you can still do it. (Download as a folder instead of the installation .exe. ) You can use the newer version for most things. However you will still need 2.70 or 2.76 to make the link between Studio and Blender. (For example after you finish your project you assign cut numbers there.) If you are using version 2.80 you will run into the problem that .blends from that version won't open in a older version. To fix this you can still File/append (in the older version) to import a mesh you made in a newer version. Or .obj is also a way to export/import between programs that's very universal.
