Hi there everyone, it's Memphis84 here with a guide about setting the right path setup for Sims4Studio. As it has come to my attention recently that alot of people are having issues with the path setup, so i figure lets make a nice guide on how to do so.
Common issues: 1: Initial Game Language not set to english 2: Which path goes where? 3: Mac Settings
1). Initial Game Language not set to english
When installing The Sims 4, you can choose your language, when you select the language and change it from English to a different language, the path to your mod folder slightly is altered when compared with installing it into english. This on it's own will cause Sims4Studio to not find the right path. So if you have selected a different language and your S4S is giving you the error of not being able to find the path, please do the following.
Step 1: Go to the Users Folder and select your username. (If you are the only user on the machine, it is very easy to find) Step 2: Go to the Documents folder that is inside the folder containing your username. Step 3: You will see right there and then what the correct name for The Sims 4 will be. Let me give you an example:
When installed in english, the path should look like: C:\Users\YourUserName\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4\ But when installed in dutch, the path will look like: C:\Users\YourUserName\Documents\Electronic Arts\De Sims 4\
As you can notice there is a slight alteration (highlighted in bold), that is because i would have selected Dutch as my game language. However the TS4 GamePath (The path that goes to Program Files) will always show "The Sims 4", no matter the language you select, an altered language only affects the Documents Path.
Then open up S4S and bring up the settings screen, enter the altered name of The Sims 4 in its place and click save. Restart S4S and the path should be fixed and the error should no longer show up.
2). Which Path goes where?
The path setup for S4S is divided into 2 paths. The actual game path and the documents folder. Lets assume for now, The Sims 4 has been installed in the english language Sims 4 Path: This is the path to the actual game, and this path is actually already pre-set in S4S settings, as S4S has both path's set in english. Sims 4 Documents: This path is the actual path to the Documents path of the game, where your Custom Content is located. Sims 4 Path: C:\Progam Files (x86)\Origin Games\The Sims 4\ Sims 4 Documents: C\Users\YourUserName\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4\ The paths above are as already mentioned pre-set by S4S itself, but could slightly change when you install TS4 in a different language. How to solve that is already mentioned above. I've tried to be clear as possible when it comes to this, and if there are any questions, feel free to ask here in this thread. I will not reply to private messages about this, as hiding the information that could be helpfull to others just doesn't feel right. So please direct all the questions you've got in this thread so everyone can be helped
3). Mac Settings
Thanks to secretlondon for providing a perfect image of how it should be set up on the mac.

I went through to make sure both paths were correct, and for the S4 Documents, I get to the documents file and there isn't anything past that. It doesn't have any sub folders. I use Origin and am using Windows 10 as my OS. Is there a way for me to create the path?

Hi, my settings look exactly like that, but today I'm getting an error report that says "Unable to find The Sims 4. Please configure your game path." I clicked through to check that everything was still the same as it had been, and selected the same but then I got this message: "An error has occurred. Please report this. Thanks " The smilie face is a nice touch, but what's going on with my game path?

Same here. My settings look exactly like that on my Mac and it's coming up with the same error messages as this person :( I am sorry, but i do not own a mac, so i do not know why this problem is happening. I was always waiting to gain more information about the mac part of S4S, but never asked for the information.
But if i have to a take a wild guess, i would guess that the paths aren't the actual paths, as you might have changed something. Like the installation path, or the language. U might want to recheck your settings, if the problem still keeps coming back, then i am not the right person to help you, as this might not have anything to do with the paths. You should go to some one of the actual S4S team that uses a mac, as they would be more capable of helping you, then me - a windows user.

Hello, I am new here and simply installed S4S today to try and help with the cc window and door bug. However, I seemingly have this exact issue. I am on a MacOS, version 10.13.6 (High Sierra). As soon as I open the program it asks me to configure the game path just like above user, I can see that the game path is wrong so I change it to the correct one, and that is when I get the error. I appreciate any help! EDIT: I play the Sims through Origin, don't know if this makes a difference? My game path is still User->Applications->The Sims 4, exactly like the screen shot above.

Did you by any chance changed the language of the game from English to a different one? As changing language will slightly alter the paths.
