I'm using MOO to place a blanket on a bed. The blanket is pink (the way it is supposed to be) when not near the bed, but it turns darker when it is placed on the bed. Is there any way to fix this? Thanks

Can you post your blanket?

Wild guess: Game reads blanket as "under the bed", therefore the bed's shadow makes it seem way darker.

Looking at the picture makes me suspect your guess is correct.

Thanks - here's the file: DOWNLOADIt is cloned off the Softy Tissues from Clutter.

Kitkat, I had a quick look at it, and I don't think your blanket is the issue, it's the bed itself. Your blanket works perfectly fine when placed over EA beds (minus the wonky fit, of course). Unless you get the bed creator to fix their bed, there's probably not much you can do about it. You could just lower the blanket a little bit and make the hanging parts shorter, and release it as a blanket for Maxis beds.

Hmmmm... this was the separated mattress from an EA bed that annachibi made. And then I resized it a bit to fit the bedframe. I wonder if there is something about separating it that causes the shadow? (that doesn't really make sense though).
Well, thanks for looking at it! Back to the drawing board...
EDITED TO ADD -
J - I went back in game and tried the blanket on EA beds. I'm still getting the same color change. They are definitely darker when placed over even EA beds. HOWEVER, they lighten back up when I raise them using bb.moveobjects. So, I wonder if there is some way I can raise the footprint of the object withing blender... that might solve the issue

Hallelujah - I fixed it!!! (sort of - a work-around, really). The darkening was happening when the footprint of the bed and the blanket neared or touched each other (the closer and more overlap between the two, the darker the blanket got). I temporarily solved it by moving the blanket meshes WAY off the center point in Blender. Now the footprint is a ways to the side of the actual object, and the color shows true. This is not ideal, as I can see conflicts arising with pathing, placement of other objects etc. Any other thoughts on how to solve would be appreciated :D

Strange, I did not see any colour darkening when I placed the blankets over the EA beds, but I'm glad you figured something out.

Well my first thought was just deleting the footprint and all references to it in the object definition. Unfortunately, in the game this didn't stop the blanket from getting darker when hovering over the bed and it would no longer allow itself to be placed in the game. Instead it gave a script call fail message and disappeared when placed. I think you're better off with the workaround.
I know that Saudade got some weird texture problems when trying to use Annachibi's bedframe to clone from. It may be that some related issue is causing a problem here. Have you tried using some other item as your clone? I should also say the problem with the frame was not due to anything Annachibi did incorrectly but appears related to the process of removing groups itself.

Thanks for the reply, orangemittens! The darkening was happening for me with unaltered EA beds as well. I also made a separated mattress of my own and kept the frame group by removing everything except for a flat plane under the mattress. Then I shrank that a bit so that it wouldn't be visible from the sides. I still had the same darkening effect as annachibi's version.
So, it's the work around unless someone else sees this and comes up with another solution :D
