I kept meaning to make a square and 5x3 rug template without any repeat pattern tiling - I have of a huge file of images I've been saving to use - but my project list keeps getting longer and longer. I'm sure someone has already done this, but I'd rather not download and open every rug I can find Does anyone know where I might be able to find these?

Rugs with templates that are non-tiling will be added to the next update of Studio in the Recolorables feature. The square ones are pretty intuitive to make but what do people think is the best size for the map on the 5 x 3? If you use the entire width of a template that is 512 pixels wide you end up needing an image that is over 900 pixels tall which seems somewhat large to me. Any thoughts?

Applause over here! I don't know how you do it, but you think of everything!
I'm so inexperienced, my opinion doesn't mean much, and is based only on the images I tend to use since I know so little about meshing and mapping! For me, since the 5x3 has a different aspect ratio than the 4x3, I generally have a different set of images that I use as resources - at least as far as non-tiling images - and it's a smaller set. Oddly enough, my folder of images for 4x2 rugs is about 80% full of images around 700x1000 so I'm always reducing anyway, but the my folder of images for 5x3 is mostly images 600x600.

The 4 x 4 templated and non-tiling rug is in the latest version that just went up. I'm still considering how best to map the 5 x 3. In the meantime it is quite easy to use one of the other rectangular rugs that is non-tiling and just resize it in the Warehouse if you're interested in giving that a try
