Hi biguglyhag, thank you for pointing this out. MisterS has kindly added the link to the new tutorial there now. Hi menaceman44, there has not been a tutorial written for that yet. Studio's slot editor is a work in progress and rotations are a bit problematic atm. The plan is when rotating slots isn't a complete and utter flog there will be a tutorial written for it. The slot rotation data is located in the "Orientation" field in the rig resource where it needs to be filled out in quaternions and in the slot slot resource where it is present in the "Transform" line in a matrix. The data needs to be edited in both places for the rotation to work in the game.

Ah. Right. I might have to put that project on hold for now then.

hi! Is rotating slots still difficult or tedious to do? I'm not really understanding which numbers should i paste into those two spots mentioned above. I read the old tutorial and it's still complicated to me just like the first time i read it. What i want to do should be less complicated since i want to rotate it 90°.. i'm thinking that if it's an even number that maybe it's less to think about? Is there anything else mentioned about this? like a tutorial or an specific thread i haven't seen? thanks!

The process of rotating slots has not yet been automated in Studio. It is still an annoying PIA to do. The issue is that the number needs to be changed in two places, one takes quaternions and the other takes a matrix. The number needs to match in both places. This will be automated on the Studio tab. The hold up has been patches, the Mac version, and other features that are more frequently requested. As you know, I'm rather partial to slots ^^ so this will not be an undone task forever.

I'm trying to create a shelf, but the rig/slots tab isn't there! Is there a way to find it?

I'm trying to create a shelf, but the rig/slots tab isn't there! Is there a way to find it? You have to be sure to choose "Create 3D mesh"in the Sims 4 Studio main menu, otherwise it won't be there. Also, if you cloned a World item the rig/slots tab won't be there either.

Also, if you cloned a World item the rig/slots tab won't be there either. I cloned the coat rack in wall decorations, but I imported the rig from a working shelf. I did not do the "Create 3D mesh," though, so I'll try that! Thanks!

I noticed that some items don't snap to the _deco_sml slots! Why is this?

I noticed that some items don't snap to the _deco_sml slots! Why is this? Objects have a certain slot size their selfs too. So for example a toothbrush holder will have a small slot size and so will snap into small slots. Some table plants will have a middle sized slot size, so will only snap into middle slot sizes. (And I think larger sizes too, but I'm not sure)

They're things like dolls, snacks, and other miscellaneous clutter that's small enough to fit! Does it have something to do with the objects themselves?

If they dont snap onto the default slots in the game its the deco object. Sometimes its the footprint stopping it. Link to one of the objects and we can double check this theory.
