Hey. I'm trying to convert some walls from TS2 and I have an issue. I'm doing all the resizing correct but in walls like that with a floor trim, there is a difference between wall sizes : ibb.co/fq628NnWhat I'm trying to achieve is that: ibb.co/r0dhm3KAny thought on what can I do? Thank you

I have been attempting to make a textured wall with norm and spec maps and am having trouble seeing their effects in S4S 3.1.4.9(wishes). Is this a warehouse materials issue or is there simply no light source in the 3D preview? If it a materials issue what would be best for a texture that's meant to look deep and wet? If it's a light source preview issue, can we get one? The walls look okay in game(minus norm/spec mapping testing issues), but waiting 10 minutes for it to load just for a preview is ridiculous...

Thank you I have been copying the tall walls and pasting them over the smaller ones, aligning them with the bottom, no resizing just crop the top. Then I add the top trim. Seems to work pretty good... hope that makes sense.

These instructions don't match the Wishes version of STS's home screen. I see, build: Standalone recolor, Add Swatches, Override. I'm looking for a definition of these options so I can translate the instructions from 2014 to the new version. Brand new to STS.

I'm looking for a definition of these options so I can translate the instructions from 2014 to the new version. Brand new to STS. In most cases you want standalone recolour. You can then select wall/floor/roof/terrain/foundation/etc from a dropdown. I have been attempting to make a textured wall with norm and spec maps and am having trouble seeing their effects in S4S 3.1.4.9(wishes). No, there's no way to preview the maps (aside from diffuse) in s4s.

How do I change gameplay effects of a custom wall or floor I downloaded? Everything I've downloaded costs 1 or 4 simoleons with no environment score and I want to make some cost 12 or 16 with an environment score. I tried changing the price in the first tab and added the environment score tag in the 3rd tab but all this did was break a lot of them, turning their thumbnails into a big X, and didn't even change the price in game. I don't know what I did wrong, all I changed were those 2 things and made sure to apply the gameplay tag to all swatches.
I figured out that the Floor section in Warehouse is where I can edit the catalog tags to show the stat changes in the tooltip but I can't figure out how to edit the "tuning" for those stats to actually have an effect in game.
Edit: So I think I've figured it out? The first time when things broke I was creating a new recolor of the CC and just changing price and adding environment tags. This time I'm editing the original files directly and it seems to work so far. Since there's no "tuning" related stuff like with objects does that mean that the tags(not the tooltip tags, the section that just says "Tags") actually affect gameplay? I don't see this mentioned anywhere in this tutorial and I'm sure many people would like the fancier and more expensive walls they create to add to environment score.

I had thought to get my feet wet with recoloring a few walls (EAs color swatches are, as always, heinous).
This is made difficult by the screenshots in the tutorial not matching the current version, making it extremely frustrating for beginners. The tutorial also doesn't seem to be user-friendly for those who actually are beginners. I went from name a folder something/anything to save it anywhere to prepare your wall textures in your 2D editor of choice.
I've looked at a couple of YouTube videos but they either skip over this, talk too fast and say too much that has no value, or run through the steps so fast my head spins. I'm smart but my attention span can wane when the info is unclear. So saying to "prepare" my texture shuts me down. Prepare....how... Give it a whisk? Warm it to room temp? I'm not being flip...this is just to press home the point of how vague this is. FYI, I have PhotoShop but rarely use it - not something I need in my daily life - so I'm honestly not too familiar with doing anythng but the absolute basics on it.
Is there a video that can do a better job of showing what is actually happening that doesn't move at the speed of light or have a lot of extraneous talking? Surely recoloring a wall can't be this difficult.

Surely recoloring a wall can't be this difficult. I haven't done much with Sims 4 yet and have only some old stretch marks and overall recolors in experience but I used to use PS a lot and still do for this stuff so by prepare, bring your texture from PS into the studio. But first, size it in PS the correct size. Do any editing to it that need to be done to make it seamless. I did try some walls in Sims 3 and I do remember the game didn't automatically make your textures seamless. That's something you have to do in the editing program your using to prepare it.

I made a few packages (Star version of Sim4 Studio) the way I always used to make them, but now they don't seem to work. The game crashes when it starts. I tried removing all the packages I made, and the game starts fine, but crashes as soon as I add them to the Mod folder.
