Haha no offense meant there esmeralda , I meant you don't really see anyone EXCLUSIVELY posting stuff on MTS anymore And yup...thought I'd give them one last try since, theoretically, the users there should have a lot of experience with what I'm asking. I'm sure I'll never get a reply... (rofl) Unless you know the answer? 😁

Sorry, I don't know the answer to your question about your new mod, I'm not a modder, just a mesher, but I do win the prize re on which site you would get a reply to your question in Creator Help and which site you wouldn't! :D

I have nothing against queued uploads like this but it was beyond ridiculous when I had used it. Let's just say my experience with the site a couple of years back wasn't too positive either. But guessing from what's been said earlier in this thread, things have lightened up from since when I last used the site, so I say you should just give it a whirl and see if you like it there. Take advantage of it lightening up. MTS was was quite resourceful with information from their wiki and the feedback from the regulars. Not really sure how it is now, you should still give it a whirl and see if it's something for you.

Just a thank you note and question to esmeralda - I list ethnic hairs and I would like to thank you for the electrical dreads, cornrows, afro for small people, etc you created, and just ask that if you ever re-upload your work to another place I would appreciate if you let me know so I can update the links to support you directly? Also, I noticed you posted templates to recolor too - what TOU do you/MTS have then? If someone wanted to share recolors would they have to put them there, include the mesh, or what? Sorry for all the questions, and thank you for still being around! I won't go into detail with MTS, I haven't uploaded there though I have got some nice things there, met some nice creators, but queries I sent never came back answered and I don't see them as very flexible, it gave an eerie feeling to host stuff there so I never did.

I dont post my stuff anywhere where it needs someone else's approval. No big reason, just creator freedom. TSR emailed me once, politely declined for that reason.

I personally prefer downloading from ModTheSims because:
a) They do direct downloads, so as soon as you click 'download', you get the mod, there is no faffing around with downloads b) You can 'Thank' the creator, which is a nice little detail but I think it goes a long way c) There is a comment section where creators can interact with those who have downloaded their content
What I believe are the cons of uploading to ModTheSims:
a) Often times, I tend to download mods that are out of date and no longer working because, if I am mass-downloading mods, I tend to not always read the comments to see if the mod is still usable b) The comments don't seem to be very organised- it can take me forever to find the latest comment, which is not helpful when I want to quickly glance at my screen to see if I can still use a mod

Sorry for all the questions, and thank you for still being around! Hi there, I'm really sorry for the late reply, I retired from Sims creation (have moved into learning Fallout 4 creation) and so I don't go on Sims sites much now aside from swinging by MTS daily to see if anyone has any questions on my items or if there are any PMs. Thank you for liking my ethnic hairs! No, I've never re-uploaded my creations elsewhere, I was always just on MTS. Aside from my Policy, which is on my profile page there, I'm not hard and fast about sharing recolours and whether the mesh is included or not. Include the mesh or don't include it, but in any case, just please credit me for the mesh and give a link back to my item's page on MTS.

As a recent creator who post his creations on Mod the Sims, I can tell it is quite a good place. The queue problem will be solved after 10 uploads, and then, you won't have to be "approved" anymore. I fully agree and understand people who claim "my creator freedom over all" BUT ... it is not so bad to be "approved" when you begin, because let's face it : many simblers are full of shitty stuff, both in graphics and meshes ... There are the ones who force users to clic on unwanted advertising, the ones who delivers crappy stuff which can twist/crash your game, the ones who cheat with photography effects, the ones who thief some others, the ones who claim a copyright which it not their, and so on ... Where is the freedom for new gamers ? Is freedom the proper word for massive crowdy jungle ? Do not misunderstand me : I have a simbler and my own website and I love them but beeing on a forum such as MTS bring you more : feedbacks on your own work ! and this is good. So, MTS is vigilent and yes, sometimes over vigilent indeed :D Most of creators on MTS are great. And somes ( are we going to talk about the case of plasticbox ? ) are pain in the ass I have fighted alone more than 2 months against, and I won. Then I decided to stop upload walls on MTS because the requirement in pictures gave me more work than the walls themselves. So silly isn't it ? Except walls, I continue to upload my creations on MTS and I'm glad with it. I haven't seen plasticbox for a while so, the proof in itself that MTS is large enough for plasticbox and some other creators :D Anyway, I never considered TSR as an option. Maybe I'll come here one day. But not today. Managing a website, a simbler and MTS is well enough :D

I would remind you that Sims 4 Studio's FAQ states that our team goal (the goal of the tool and this site) is to support a free, friendly, creative Sims 4 Community. To that end, it is not helpful to point your finger at a large swathe of Sims 4 creators saying they make "shitty" meshes and graphics. There are plenty of other places in the Sims 4 community to express this kind of unfriendly, unsupportive negativity should you wish to (MTS being one of them) but Studio forums is a place for constructive feedback, not one to critique the creative efforts of others with the unhelpful and uninformative word "shitty." Further, one downloader's least favorite creation is another's treasure. If someone makes and uploads something, there will be people that are more than happy to download it and use it in their game. This is why I find people who attempt to position themselves as an arbiter of what others should have available for download to be ridiculous. The practice of queue moderators determining what looks good enough to upload inhibits downloader freedom as well as the creative freedom of uploaders and the desire of beginner creators to persist in honing their skills. The idea that MTS is vigilant is laughable. The moderation there does not involve any in-game quality testing, so you are just as likely to download bugged material or find deceptively photographed items there as anywhere else and events like this have occurred in the past. The myth that there is in-game quality testing going on has been perpetuated throughout our community, but that's all it is. Instead of the word vigilant, I would choose the word nit-picky, and I would apply it to the evaluation of screenshots only because that's all that gets evaluated in their queue. For Sims 2 the story may have been a bit different because then MTS was a center for providing creation tools and expert creator help. This is no longer the case as the site is irrelevant to the propagation of creation education for Sims 4. If people want to learn how to make something for Sims 4 or perfect their creating techniques, they will not find much in the way of help there. All they do is nitpick creators who got their creation tool and any help they needed from somewhere else. It's a great set-up for them but not one that's very helpful for our community, individual creators, or downloaders who prefer to make their own downloading decisions.

I've been having a hard time dealing with the moderators and queue system as well. One good example would be a wisteria archway I liberated from the cats and dogs pack and recolored and uploaded (queue bypass). 2 days after uploading this, several hundred views and downloads later and they pulled it because I didn't include enough screenshots. I mean I included 2... how many do you need? It's an archway. It's really only a loss for their members tbh :/

Not a creator but as a user, I've tried both MTS and TSR and I must say the ability to filter by featured / selected / all artists in TSR have been very useful. Maybe the feature also exists in MTS but I haven't found it yet.

Screw MTS, seriously. As a creator they are not pleasant to use at all. I recommend the Nexus site instead, because I've been uploading a lot of content there with no issues.
MTS are a bunch of Bureaucratic Narcissistic liars with absolutely ridiculous petty rules that they will twist against you if they don't like you to knock you back. They can't even follow their own Guidelines some of the time and they twist the meaning of the word Advertising to suit themselves.
I tried uploading something to MTS recently and they knocked it back twice. They did have one good reason, but the rest was garbage reasons. Anyway after trying again and doing as I was told, they just made up other BS reasons to knock me back again. And they still cannot explain where and what the Advertising is in my content. They can't answer my questions or my address my points, so they give up, because they know they are in the wrong and they don't care.
So as a content creator I don't recommend MTS at all. Go with Nexus.

I do not upload there because they are picky on who has to follow thier rules, to have thier uploads approved. Even after the first 10 uploads. Different moderators have different rules on the same thing. Twice this has happened to me. I told this to the second moderator as was following rule by first moderator.. Then found myself being moderated (My own special moderator. This one person checked my uploads after that) every upload and being picked up for very tiny issues. So gave up. Not the same rules for everyone.
