Well, it has been a Fun Time...while it lasted. If you hadn't noticed, i pretty much removed everything from my Old Creator Studio - a few weeks back due to a Disturbing Trend of Sims4 Updates that were slowly Eating Away @ every single Object that i made. °After this last Update, i Tested my Theory again and started a New Game - (Strange way to Test things with Every Update, but it works.). All of my Objects are no longer mapped correctly, they look Horrible - Dirty, Broken mapping; like some bizzare Alpha overlay has been placed directly onto the mapping.
The non-Object build mods look fine - The Outdoor plants/The Flooring/Grass...Clothing and Hats from CAS mods look fine...but it seems to be 85% of all of my Buy mode Objects are completely' Fried.
I give up, this has happened in the past - but this time around, it has effected about everything that i have spent GOD ONLY KNOWS how many hours making.
I wish you all the Best, it's Time to find a new Hobby and bid Farewell to The Sims4. Maybe we will run into each other when Sims5 hits the Market....ha! Never Cry, Laugh Insanely!

Steven I'm sad to see you go and it's unfortunate what's been happening with your objects and the game. Is this something just happening in your game or are your objects being effected like this in others as well? I'm just curious to see if we can help you with a solution to this problem. :(

hi! i'm sorry you're experiencing that issue. Are you in laptop mode by any chance? I've experienced a similar issue in that mode where it only looks ok when you hover the object. This is caused by the texture size that is not properly set to be 4x4. 512x512, 1024x1024..512x256.. if the size has even 1 pixel more.. it will show up like that.

Hi stevenssimsstuff, this should definitely not be happening because the latest patches are all backwards compatible...meaning that things you made before should still show up correctly in a patched game. Can you post a couple example items that illustrate the problem you've discovered?

And something NEW: CAS hat mod started Freaking out and looking Bizarre, this is reminding me of the, "Creeper Probs", from Hair Mods in the past.

Hi stevenssimstuff, I cannot hear the audio on the vid for some reason, but I'm assuming all these changes are changes which occurred after the most recent patch. I've taken a look at the FoosBall table and in my game, it's doing the same thing. I took a look at the .package, and the problem is explained by the fact that the bump does not match the item's map. Here is the diffuse image in Studio, it is 1024 x 512: Here is the bump in Studio, it is 1024 x 256: You have the item mapped to fit a 1024 x 512 image but in the game, this map is also being applied to the 1024 x 256 bump causing the bump to become distorted and to show on parts of the item where it doesn't fit. Because Studio does not composite the images in the model viewer, you will not see the problem in Studio...you can see it if you apply the bump to the mesh in Blender, however. Here is your map applied to this bump in Blender: I've put a white rectangle around the area that shows up on those circle-shaped things inside the foosball table on EA's mesh, but that are showing up on the sides of your table in the game. Your item has the side of the foosball table mapped there so in Blender, and in the game, these circles show up, elongated and on the exterior surface of the side of the table: I cannot explain why this bump/map mismatch did not show up previous to the latest patch...all I can say is that it *is* showing up now. The way to fix it would be to take the existing bump and paste it at the top of a blank 1024 x 512 image and import that into the .package to overwrite the existing bump that doesn't match your map. I would have to take a look at the other items that are showing changes to see what the issue is with them. I'd be happy to take a look at any you want to send. My guess is EA made some global change to the game that altered how things are being rendered and that this change has increased sensitivity to the rendering of the bump. In the past, it was noted by several people, myself included, that the game was not very sensitive to the bump on some objects and, indeed, some objects didn't seem to show the bump at all. It's possible that EA is fixing this and that this fix is manifested as bumps that didn't show up before all the sudden showing up. They have said they plan to fix the in-game indoor lighting so that the rug shader, which currently does not show a bump at all indoors, will show a bump properly. When that fix goes in, there are going to be rugs all over the community that have the same issue as this FoosBall table does.

God... yes, those rugs. Though i do notice the bumps when someone forgets to change that. Both indoor and outdoor.
Also, as a side note for this post.. there's no need to change the font, color and size of the text. Everyone can read you just fine.

Yw I expect I'll have to fix some of my bumps when the indoor lighting gets fixed. I've caught myself not changing the bump on other items when I've seen the thing in the game and noticed the old bump showing through. When placed indoors, though, rugs don't show their bump so I've probably missed one or two :P

That is Exactly what i did...never even gave the Bump a second thought...Ha! God, i feel Horrible about these files in anyone's Game now! Remember when all we had to worry about was the RLES? i miss those times, really miss them now...hahaha! You can see the difference in Clothing now too - i just noticed that this am....with someone elses' Creations from way back. i always thought of the Bump as something that controlled the shiny-ness of an object, an extra Layer of BLAH....never gave it much thought, the Scary part is how many others did the same?

I've been going through these Files....and.....i figured out what's going on......i DELETED the Bump and RLES in Studio....ha! That's why it was not an issue before now.
With the Latest Update, 17 May....i suppose the Game took the Object number and added the missing parts.
Which means, ha! i have to redo EVERYTHING from Scratch to get those files correct.....KILL ME NOW GOD!

The bump is an image that adds to the illusion that a 2D texture is three dimensional. It uses a grey-scale image to do this. Shininess in Sims 4, both for objects and for CAS comes from the specular image. In CAS the specular is a somewhat unique image type cooked up by EA - the .rles. This image is different than others in the game in that it is a 5 channel image. Objects don't use .rles for their specular which is kind of a shame...the .rles is a very powerful and cool image type.

So, got Home this afternoon and threw a Sims2 Bed together that i had my eye on, for some time....AND.....Yes it works! The Bump Map has to be the EXACT SAME SIZE as the Texture, in this case - Tossed in a 512x512 Blank, worked like a Charm! Thank You OM!!! Bella looks Happy again...ha!
