Is it possible to remove the footprint of a painting? If I remove the footprint with this method, I can no longer place the painting (in game, I get two little red pop ups - first says "Must be placed on wall" and the second one says "System error"). I know it might seem a little odd to want to delete a painting's footprint, but I was hoping to be able to place objects in front of the painting, directly against the wall, without using moveobjects.
I've tried cloning a few of the game paintings, and making no edits except removing the footprint, just in case it was just a problem with my original package, but I've had the same result with all of them. Remove a painting's footprint, can no longer place the painting. Any ideas?
Thank you!

In the Footprint resource/Object Polygons/Intersection Flags there is a check box for the Objects field. Putting a check in that box should allow your painting to intersect with objects. If the painting has a linked footprint this won't work before you unlink the footprint or import a different one in. Studio's auto footprint feature has the side-effect of unlinking footprints so if you used that your footprint is already unlinked so you shouldn't need to import a new one.

Have the instructions changed with the Harmony update? I have version 3.0.1.4 and there's no Footprint resource line.

You need to clone the object as a 3D mesh. Recolor clones reference the original footprint in the game files and are not included in the package for that reason.

Thank you! I've been trying to figure this out for a while.
It's working in game now, but just to confirm I did it right, and in case anyone else comes here looking, that's the "Selective Clone" option with everything checked, right?

You're welcome Thank you for pointing out the tutorial didn't mention this. I've added a note about it now. Sorry for the confusion. You can use selective clone but there is no need to under usual circumstances. Both selective clone and create 3D mesh will work, and I recommend the Create 3D Mesh option (although there is no harm done if you chose selective clone):

Hi, I have the Harmony update and I want to remove my sim's footprint for poses etc., but this only talks about removing an objects' footprint. How would I remove my sim's?

Can you be more specific? What do you mean by removing the sim footprint?

Hi elainesimmer, this is a thread for a tutorial about how to remove an object's footprint. If you have questions about some other kind of project, please post them in a relevant thread or start your own thread in the Creator Help section. Thanks!

Hello. I can't get this to work. I chose "create 3d mesh" and chose a floor statue, replaced it with my mesh, and put the zeros in the footprint fields. I also put the check on the objects box. But the fields with zeros turn red and if I save and open the package again, they are replaced by other numbers. In game, I can't place the object over another object without using MOO. It says "can't intersect with other objects". My mesh is of pillows. What am I doing wrong? lol Thank you!

Hi AnnArchy, which objects box are you checking and which fields are you putting 0's into? Which version of Studio are you using? Can you post the .package?

Hi, orangemittens. I'm checking the Objects box you mentioned: Footprint resource > Object Polygons > Intersection Flags > Objects. And the 0s I'm putting in the fields inside Footprint > TemplateKey, the three fields called Group, Instance and Type. Although "Group" is already all 0s, but not the other two. I'm using S4S Harmony 3.0.1.3. And here's the package (Mediafire, hope it's ok). Thank you
