Proboard forums have many features some of which work very much like the features of other forum types and some of which do not. As I come across features that seem to need some explanation I will add those here.
How to subscribe to a thread
--------------------------------------
1. When you are in a thread you want to subscribe to go to the first post and click the Actions dropdown. Select Bookmark.
2. Go to your profile and click Edit Profile.
3. Click the Notifications tab and scroll until you see "when a bookmark is updated" in your Notification Options list.
4. Put a check in the box(es) to receive a forum and/or email notification when that thread is updated.
How to change the forum's "skin" - alters the appearance/colors/theme of the forum
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1. Go to your profile and click Edit Profile.
2. Click the Settings tab.
3. Scroll down until you see the Forum Theme dropdown.
4. Select the Forum Theme you want and then Click the Save Account Settings button near the bottom of the page.
How to tag someone so the right person is notified that you tagged them
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1. Hover your mouse over the name of the person you want to tag. This will cause a small popup to appear that says @ followed by that member's profile name.
2. In your post type the @ symbol directly followed by the member's profile name.
Step 1 is necessary because Proboards will notify the member based on their profile name only. If a member joined and then changed their forum name to something other than their profile name then the @ symbol will not notify them if you follow it up with their forum name.
Alternatively, you can hold down the Alt key on your keyboard and click the member's name. This will automatically add a tag to the right name into your post.

Go to your Profile page and click Edit Profile in the upper right hand corner.
Click the Settings tab.
Select the Yes option under Enable Drafts.
Click the Save Account Settings button at the bottom of the page.
How to link to a specific post within a thread
----------------------------------------------------
Go to the post you want to link to and click on the little arrow next to the gear in the upper right corner of the post.
Select Link to Post from the drop down list.
Copy the link from the popup that appears.
Return to the thread where you want to link this post and make your new post. Click the link button as usual and paste the link you previously copied into the box.
