Hello Simheads
Something has happened to my baby (CP) she is at the Doctors (Computer Specialst), I need to wipe my computer clean and start fresh, so my question to you is I have Sims that I made that I have no shared to the community (and don't want to also do not have the option to anymore) as well as houses, SO how do I back those files up? Do I back up the whole Sims 4 Folder?
Thank you in Advance. -SweetSorrowSims

If you want to start a new game with old sims, I think you might need the Tray folder, I think that's where the library items go. I'd backup the saves. And definitely don't forget about the mods you're using for your sims. I remember loading an old game without mods, and a ton of items were missing from the lot, not to mention my sim turned bald, got weird looking eyes and blue skin.

Haha thanks, I am laughing at the bald weird eyes and blue skin remark. I am remembering when I played the sims 3 and I must have loaded and old game or lost a bunch of cc and my sims were all black skin and as in black I mean they looked like shadow people haha ad these little eyes no hair no clothing just a black figure with white little eyes, it was creepy? Thanks I will probably just backup the whole sims 4 folder.

Oh, I guess you already did it the hard way, sweetsorrowsims, but along with mods, saves, and tray, you want your options and probably your screenshots, if you take them. There's a very good guide here for future reference. Oh, so it's reminding me...the music file too if you have custom music.

It wasn't to hard, I actually didn't do anything I got my computer guy to back the whole folder up... Thank you for that guide if only I had it a week ago lol. No custom music, I always found that lagged my game, then again that was the sims 3 and it was already a laggy game!

Yeah. I guess the short list of things to back-up still contains the heftiest files, so it probably doesn't make it go much faster. I do keep that guide available for reference though.
